to bad we couldn't do a drive by format kind of like meca does that seems to be popular see how loud you are outside the car. maybe that would help bring a few new people.

I just think that there needs to be more than Braging rights and a thropy. With all of the money spent on equipment, and Gear, gas, Entry fees, hotels.... There needs to be more.

sad but true, unless there is more of an incentive what's the point ??
things always change and who knows maybe db drag will change and catch fire again but for the reasons stated above it won't be easy

Sad thing is that why is it that competitors want more to be won? I never really cared what was up for grabs when I went to an event. I was happy with what ever was given. I went to have fun...not to try and win prizes etc.

At one time that was enough. To win thropys, But now everything cost so much more. For example I spent over $4000.00 this year on the 14 db drag shows, 4 Meca shows, SBN, Finals. And all I have are some throphys. Dont get me wrong I love to compete, and will as long as I can. But When you put in the time and money Like I did. You look back and say man that was a lot of money. Was the price worth it? to me YES, but for most without the cool big prizes(bikes from kenwood, free cars for death match. the cash prizes for 1st 2dn and 3rd) its not. So for it to grow and get big like it once was. I think there needs to be cash prizes again.

We had a points competition planed to have this year but with the bad turn I dont think we can bring it out. It would have had a prize of 1st $400 2nd $100 3rd $50
But there does not seem to have enough interest lately to bring out a show like this!

I can tell you from last year (with Greg's ESP Challenge format) getting entry fees back is extremely nice. That being said, Psyco I like the idea of if your class is full and you win, you get your entry back. That's pretty nice for the really loud guys, and pushes some of the newer guys to try and get louder (dbdrag) or more consistant (and potentially louder for bassrace).
I know personally, I like the way Greg's had his format set up to where you accumulate more points for being more consistant and closer to a perfect score, then whoever has the most points at the end of the weekend wins some cash. That was setup in a nice fashion, and I think it worked really well.
That being said, the reason I compete is just for the fun of competition and to hang out with people with common interests. Not many people around here understand why I spend bunches of money on my stereo, so it's really nice to be around other people that do get it.

Take a little from each entry for BassRace and put it into a pot. Winner of their class takes it. The more people in a class the more money in the pot. It gives a cash incentive for people to fill classes.
