So I rounded up a free ride for my Blazer to finals but the rest of the trip and entry is not covered by my sponsors or myself at the moment.
I didnt plan at all this year to attend BC of the travel but with the blazer getting a ride from someone that changes the game.
So Im asking competitors here who ave seen the new youtube vids of the new set up. "Do you want to see what this thing can really do? DO you want it at finals?"
If you do then I need yor help. YOU can send fund donations to mitcht88@hotmail.com through paypal.
If I cant raise the money to go then I will REFUND EVERY donation!!!!
Also I will be sporting a banner where ever my BLazer is parked thaning all who helped make the trip possiable.

I cant belive your such a spoiled brat that after you post needing a sponser you ask other competitors to foot your bill.
Be a man, pay your own way and stop milking off other people.
How many other people here have earned there way to finals WITHOUT a sponser and a free ride for there car ? Does this mean that EVERY PERSON that wants to go but dosn't want to pay or cant afford to pay also gets to post requesting money ?
I spent ever dime that I could afford building my vechile and getting it to shows all over this summer with out a sponser. I am now paying my OWN way to finals. This trip has broken me but I have made it work becasue I earned my invite.
DO you want to see what my van can do ? Give me a sponser.

This forum is so funny, everyone talks about how they had to "do whatever it took to get to finals" but when someone posts up asking for help because its the only way to make it to finals people criticize him. I'm sorry but it looks like he is doing what it takes to get to finals, it is a really nice vehicle and I hope he can get the money to make it there.

He is now on Team Soundstream and I was told they just sent out an email to the whole team asking the same thing he did.
I see two things here someone TRYING to make it to finals. However I also see someone if they WANTED to goto finals they would have saved money no matter if there was a way to take there car.

Jay I dont beleive we've ever even met so if you want to let me know how I disrespected you at one time or another please PM me or call 850-694-2314. I may have been busy and not have noticed something and I do apologize. I did not know you were upset with me. You are an asset to this sport and done a good deal for its promotion. I thank you for that.
I never planned to attend finals this year or I would be ready to go as I always have been. We went to FSF a couple of weeks ago instead. Since then I have been ASKED to attend finals. BY the highest power there is in this organization.
I told him the only way I could attend is if it would not put out my familay in any way. If others choose to do that then that is there choise but I for one no longer put my family or business second to my hobbies and whims.
Therefore I reached out to who I thought to be the best and most respectable people in the car audio world. My fellow competitors.
I have paid for every single piece of eqipment from my truck for the last 4 years. If you dont believe me then I really dont care. The last person and company to provide me with "free" equipment was Tracy Foach and Kicker back in 2005 when I have L5 woofers.
PLease do not try and compare ampounts spent as a 2 year competition budget and build will not exceed an 11 plus year competitors time expense and efforts.
The grade we should measure ourselves by is one which also involves how we can reach out to one another as well as how that call is responded to.
So in conclusion this seems to be a list of who is in dbDRAG for real and who will stand up for others and who is not.
I have thus far received several donations from former competitors and some great friends and individuals who understand what this sport and felowship is about.
I am working diligantly to make this finals and have a geat weekend. dbDRAG is here to stay and so am I. Through the thick and the thin.
If Im not able to make finals we'll see you guys at locals through the winter and SBN when it gets warm!!
And as always if you guys need anything from me Ill do my best to be there for you as I usualy have been.

I dont think it is the fact that nobody wants to help you out. But everyone is in the same situation as you, BROKE. The ones going to finals have saved every penny they could others knowing the cost made a decision not to go. Im sorry that you had a change of heart about going to finals, but to come on here begging (as I see it) your fellow competitors to pay your way because "Since then I have been ASKED to attend finals. I think ASSMAN has been in the game as long as you and Matt Chilcote he still goes to Jermey's shows in WI. and you said 11 straight? what happened in 2003 you only had 16 points.Also you didnt support finals in 98,99,and 08. Unfortunately reading what you have wrote makes you come off as someone who thinks they deserve something special because of who you are. So sorry if I dont donate to your cause.
Also with this post and the sponsor post I have lost some respect towards you. Someone who comes off as everyone owes him something. granted you have put out some great vehicles in your time and I have talked to you at SBN a couple times you always seemed nice. But coming on here and saying what you have and asking what you have just seems like your ego is to big.
On a second note they must of dropped the points amount for finals because you do not have enough for an invite. 93 in drag 85 in BR.

First of all, let me go ahead and state for the record that I am Neill Barber’s girlfriend and save you the time speculating.
I have been reading the forums this morning and WOW. You guys can be vicious. Some of you don’t even know him personally and are attacking him based on what you presume to know.
So let me tell you what I, and the people who know him personally, know.
He is a longtime veteran of this sport. He has devoted his life to this sport. It is his love, his passion, his life. I have seen him with my own eyes at stereo competitions take time out to answer questions from people who are just starting out. He’s not condescending and doesn’t treat them as though they’re idiots. He encourages them and helps them.
I think a few of you guys are a little confused about what a sponsorship entails and, if you happen to know Neill personally would know that the one he has isn’t your run of the mill sponsorship. He pays for his equipment. I have seen the bank accounts. Soundstream approached HIM because of his level of competitorship and expertise. Yeah, so he put it out there that he was interested in a sponsorship. But if he wasn’t so damn good at what he does, do you think he would have had any offers? The answer is no.
Neill isn’t begging for a handout. That’s what you don’t understand. We have four kids. Our top priority is providing for THEM. And even though he loves what he does, he is a good enough father and provider that he wouldn’t let that get in the way of taking care of his family. He had no intention of even going to World Finals this year. We just couldn’t afford it. But so many people contacted him, wanting to see the Blazer there. People who offered to transport his Blazer for free. Good people and fellow competitors in this sport who just want to see everyone possible come to Oklahoma and do the damn thing. He still didn’t think he’d be able to go without putting our family finances at risk and that is something he refused to do.
So he thought he could reach out to you guys, fellow competitors, sportsman, and friends. That’s what being a member is all about, isn’t it? Loyalty, allegiance, fellowship. Or is it just a title to you? A little sticker to put on your car or up in your shop? To the men and women who have been part of this sport, part of DB Drag for years, it means much more than that. These are the people that I know and have met.
Maybe you guys need to regroup and reassess what you’re here for. If attacking someone on an internet forum is what makes you feel better about yourself and where you are, then by all mean, keep on trucking. But if being a member of DB Drag means something to you, if it is important and not just something you can SAY you’re a part of…if it’s something you really stand behind and ARE a part of, then get it together.

so it sounds like you should have had your girlfriend ask because she explains things much better and doesnt make it sound as much like ur askin for a handout.
either way i cant help cuz i have my own builds to pay for. and unless u can bassrace a 63+ like nobody else i wouldnt donate to see wat the blazer can do. im sure its loud as hell now. i love how clean the install is but its gotta be doin some crazy number for me to want to pay to see.

im with you terry. we all used to help eachother. alot. i spent my friday night at finals helping team naptime and team fusion get louder and they were in our class. hell mike beat us in one round. these new people have to understand that we used to help one another but when it was time to get in the lane it was all about the compition. wanna talk about helping eachother? how about when team livewire erics van burnt down? gene alaxander and i busted our butts raising money behind erics back and makin calls and you would not beleive the people in this sport that donated. we all together were able to get eric another van and build material and equipment. i bet none of the new competitors would even think of doing that now. again neil is not asking for a handout. he is doing what it takes to make stuff happen.

it looks like he is doing what it takes. you people bitch cause alot of us are not going to finals cause of money and its to far and blah blah and a real competitor will do whatever it takes to be their. gee looks like neil is doing just that. whatever it takes. looks like a real competitor in my eyes.
