Goodness, that's a lot of body filler. Are you concerned that it might crack since it's just body filler and nothing else?

Not worried about cracks, once it's sanded down it will get resin over it...and belive me the bondo will soak up resin. And a crack is easy to cover with some sure tape unlike the huge lips my round overs had.

On the bright side I'm almost 1/2 way though the 1st stage of the filling and shaping. Hope to have the inside roughed in by sunday....pics soon [Blob]

I think its funny that everyone tries to play In The Air Tonight...but no one will ever sound like Tommys truck does with that song.

Also people keep trying to make different bass versions of it like it has some secret bass line hidden in it or something lol

Pete your install is starting to look really familiar [Big Grin]

Looking good though man, hopefully there is a good turnout in 159.9 this season

haha right now thats about the only song I can find that works with the peak......and if I ever get it done the peak will stop changing. I still have no idea what the words in late nite tip are, maybe I need to turn the subs off once and see what I'm playing.

Maybe I'll let the dust clear in the box and get some pics tommorow. I have 6 gallons of bondo in it so far. Box is about 75% done as far as shaping goes. Been holding off on the port becasue once I put it back in the box has very poor air flow and the fumes build up fast.

If things keep going this well I will have to start wearing socks in the box by next week end.

So far 1 1/2 gallons resin(mixed with bondo) 6 gallons bondo......and my $5 sander is still holding in [Blob]

The lil hand held only does a lil of the round, use it mostly to blend into the wood and to prep the wood for the filler.

Done about 40% of this by hand. I got a few nice cheese grater files that do the hard part.

Once I start with the primmer it will all have to be done by hand. I'm going for a 95% car grade finsh so it's got to be about perfect.

The only part I'm not doing any thing with will be the back wall and the rounds on the back wall. I have already had it break once so I'm not going to chance that much work. Never found a gain doing any thing with the back wall any ways. Kinda wishing I had counter sunk the subs though.

More sanding done, still a lot of work left. It is getting ready for the 1st coat of primer, maybe in a day or 2. It's becoming hard to tell whats low spots from the diffrent shades of body filler.

It turns out though working lots of hours at work has a up side, I am now able to "Hire" a good pair of hands to help with the work. Sanding above your head wears your arms out real fast.

Right now I'm thinking I should have the inside of the box all primed and sanded to say 320grit by NEXT week end. I'm just realy dreading having to shrink the port......I think it might kill me from the lack of air flow when working in the box.

Call me I'll give you some tips on frying your body work streight pete. If there's anyone who can help you make it automotive grade it's me :-). I think we should finish it in 400-600 grit. lightly Spray black regular spray paint over your bondo as you would also primer and when you sand, your low spots will show with unsanded surface. Call me

took the words from my keyboard causes a shadow effect so low spot will appear as u sand as long as i use a sanding block

Well I finaly made it. 2009 Tulsa Ok. 4x Bass Race over 160 and backed it up with a 3 way tie for 1st place with a 159.8am

I have reached well over the goal I set out for. I have to say thanks for the people that helped me get to this point. Bob at American Bass ,Team RipRock,Db Don and my team mates(TEAM SOUND IMPRESSIONS) that helped me get to world finals 900+ miles from home.

Win or lose tommorow I had a goal and have done what I set out to do. I wanted to prove that it doesn't take a lot of power or cone area and any person that has a dream can make it come true if you want it bad enough. I hope that others can use this build log to reach there goals.

"Legal" Songs that play low.

Soulja Boy - Rubberbands (33hz) (Same song I used at the Taylor 2x.)
The Dream - I Luv Your Girl (32hz)
Bass Mekanik - Moonstone (25hz)
Gorilla Zoe - Crack Muzik (24hz)

However, there are tons of Chopped and Screwed songs that low.

Trae - In The Hood (29hz)
Gorilla Zoe - Money (28hz)
Gorilla Zoe - Juice Box (30hz) (Should be familiar with this one. [Wink] )
