this is my idea for a new, fun, and exciting game some of the promoters can do at their bass race shows.
i did this once in a competition against David Mackey in '06, and it was alot of fun, and very exciting.
1- competitors stage as they would normally in a competition.
2- judge checks to make sure everyone is ready for competition.
3- start the meter. "ready... set... go!"
4- no-one starts their stereo.
the object behind "bass race chicken" is to hold out longer than the other guy before starting your system, and try to get the perfect score in your normal competition class.
however, it can be quite trying for the event judge, because the judge has to pay attention to what time the competitors start their stereos.
after all "bass race chicken" competitors have competed, the judge will go back and look at which competitors started the latest and still managed to get a perfect score (or as close as possible to it) in their normal competition class.
the latest starting competitor with the closest to perfect score is the winner.

maybe make this a tie breaker idea and see how it goes, maybe a bonus at some events and see how the response is

no. the point of it is to wait longer than the other guy, before starting your stereo. setup bass race on your termlab, and start a little late and youll see why it gets interesting.
with the way termlab works, the longer you wait, the harder it is to get your score up.

sounds fun. youd have to be capable of atleast a class or 2 above what your competing in though

you would be surprised at how exciting this can be to see. seeing who is ballsy enough to start their stereo last, and then to see if they can still get their score up. it will lead to ALOT of excitement.

Sounds like fun... hmm... I would say Car. 3??? This one would be fun to look. But I think you need to have some kind of system for the people that start late and score diff.

Who wins????
depends on what other classes do.
remember, bass race chicken isnt divided into separate classes. everyone competes in their normal score bracket, but bass race chicken is based on who can do the closest to a perfect score, with the latest start.
example- if you normally compete in 149.9, you cant try to do 139.9 in bass race chicken. so if you try to do 139.9 in bass race chicken, then you would be 10db low of your target score.
say--
car 1: starts w/ 23 seconds left and does 137.8(normally competes in 139.9)(2.1 db below target) car 2: starts w/ 18 seconds left does a 138.7(normally competes in 149.9)(11.2 db below target) car 3: starts w/ 26 seconds left does 147.8(normally competes in 149.9)(2.1 db below target) car 4: starts w/ 22 seconds left does 143.7 (normally competes in 149.9)(6.2 db below target)
car 1 and car 3 were the closest to the perfect score, (both were 2.1 db below target score in their respective score bracket). however, out of the two, car 1 started the latest, and is therefore the winner.

Who wins????
Car 1 started 2nd and ended up with the middle score
Car 2 started 1st, but is closest to 139.9
Car 3 started last but furthest from 139.9
who wins the 139.9 class, who takes 2nd and who got 3rd? (with my examples)
in your example car 2 would win for having the closest to perfect score. but if anyone else were to do the same score, but start earlier, then car 2 would lose.
starting early would have the advantage to running a perfect score easier, but in the end,if you have 5 people do a perfect score, the one with the latest start would win.

I Like that. Seem's simple enough, and add's a bit of excitement. As long as people go in the class they should be in, and not a class lower.

that easy enough to solve by looking at what they run in the normal competition.
