I wouldn't do comps in the a-pillar. Do the mids in the doors or kick and put the tweeters up there.

yea thats what i leaning towards now...the apillar idea was mainly just to be different but from what ive read it will take way too much hassle to get them sounding proper for my liking. That SQ crap is a little limp-wristed for me. [Laugh]

Also might be picking up a pair of tsns 18s for some interm testing as I wont be able to afford all my recones, baskets for a while.

once the shell of the enclosure is done i can throw something in no problem.

I have 6 DD 9500/99 12s, 6 solo x 10s, 2 RE HC 18s to use in the interm.

never had it to the track with the quickest setup as id be booted off. there was no rollbar in the car and im fairly sure it was quicker than 11.49 which breaks nhra rules.

my quickest pass with the other setup was in the low 12s @ 115 mph

Very nice build and car. I don't see alot of Malibu wagons looking so nice, at least here in Detroit. Thanks for posting this.

It looked like a ported clam shell down at finials last year. But he did have the wall of 15's before that I believe.

If you want to get technical, yes mckinnies and pipo's wall are 4th order bandpasses. Are they dialed in as such? Not really, but from strictly an enclosure stanpoint they are.

Frankie rios would almost be considered a 6th order because the subs and the rear (ported) chamber fire into the same area and then into the cabin.

This is all generalities of course, because none of these vehicles, as far as I can tell, were really built as bandpasses.

HMM!! This is very interesting. It seems a little hard to understand why their enclosures are not playing as 4th orders when they are indeed a 4th order? I also thought that Frankie's was a 4th order because the pictures I have seen did not show a port at the rear or either I could not tell? I also do not understand how you could "accidentally" build a 4th order bandpass if you were not trying to do so? I apologize for the inquisition, but I would really like to understand these designs better.

Their enclosures are "accidentally" bandpasses because they were designed to incorporate large numbers of woofers and in turn were bandpasses because of their shape.

Think about it, the diamond is sealed subs firing into a chamber that comes through an opening.

The subs are in the sealed chamber. The port is tuned through the size of the opening and the depth of the enclosure

think about it...really wahts the difference in a diamond...and this?
