Hey me and my buddy are just getting interested in compititions this year and i am wondering if any one knew of any upcoming compititions? How i would do locally with 3 12" kicker cvr's in a sealed box and 1 kicker 750.1. I also need to build a ported box that will fit in a 1995 jetta and was wondering if anyone had any good designs or ideas. Also would be better to build a new ported box and keep the same amp or upgrade the amp or both? if so any ideas on some good amps?
thanks

Actually, he may have been at the comp talking to me about this...were you at the comp?

And I could whip you up a design for the enclosure, just let me know the dimensions you have and what youre looking for etc.

I would get a battery if youre worried about that, not a capacitor. And I take it you arent the one I was speaking with at the comp?

with that amp just a decent sized battery (like a kinetik HC1800 or equivelent should be good) in the back would be fine and upgrade your wiring a bit...an alt upgrade shouldnt be needed but it may be a good idea if you plan on going bigger in the future.

i ran the 1606 on a stock alt and stock battery up front and a 60 dollar deep cycle marine battery from wall mart without any issues would probably be fine with a hc800 or whatever the smallest kinetic they make in the rear or just upgrade the front battery to a hc 1800 and do the big three upgrade

deffinatly no cap Ive got an Orion 2500D at 2 ohms in my truck which produces around 1500 watts only upgrade Ive got is a XS Power D3400 in the auxillary location didnt do the big 3 and I get little to no dimming I have a feeling that it would of been just fine if I had replaced my primary battery which is a NAPA orbital with the XS power

1/0 gauge wire from the battery in front to the battery in the back and also on the big 3 up front
to upgrade the alt wires you just replace them with the bigger wire from the battery to the charging post on the alt. also upgrade the wire for the battery and engine ground.

You would run 1/0 gauge from the front batt's positive terminal the rear batt's positive terminal...then you wire your amp(s) to the battery, using it's negative terminal as the ground...then run 1/0 gauge from the rear batt's negative terminal to a solid grounding point.

And the run from front to back on both batteries' positive terminals will need to be fused on each end of the run close to each batt's terminal.

i thought if you just added to. it would cause problems something about resitance issues due to the factory wire being alot smaller.
