I'm hitting consistant 148.3-148.6 but that seems about all for the current box placement. Gonna try and seal it forward and see if we get an increase there.

We're up to a 149's db music 44-48hz and 150db spl with only 1900w power with two 12's. You've got the equipment to do 149.9 but with a different box design for sure hit your goal with 10's. Here is a pic of the test box we've done so far. Still needs some tuning and we hope to do 149.9 with about 2000w and add power later to give us that headway we need.
What's making this design loud and efficient is the flared port. And having the box as far in the trunk as possible is also what is gaining us to. For every 2" further we make a box inside the trunk we gain .5db. Hope this pic gives you some ideas.

Hey Rob quick question... just wondering why you are strapping the amps??? next time you recone you should get coils to match 1 woofer to your optimal impedence per amp and it will do loads to save on your electrical... strapped amps are 2x the draw

are u gonna take out the L port rob?or atleast make it abit smaller that should get rid of ur problem, and try PVC on the front and back or the port that might help u gain a few tenths

The preamp inputs on the older 5k are loose causing an intermittent signal. I was just too lazy to pull the subs and wire them in series to achieve a 1ohm load. per amp.
Once I get the amp fixed I'll run them individual at .5.

Nope. If i do that the internal volume becomes way to big for the 10's.
I actually lost from shrinking my port width from 10in to 9in.

Ahhh ok... I figured that you had a reason for strapping them I just couldnt think of one lol.... bet you will be louder once you unstrap them too

That's a ton of power. Work on box and you'll do 150db's no problem and probably stop blowing woofers to.

Ross If I pull the L it changes tuning, increases box size etc... and just basically will kill these 10's.
There are other solutions. i.e. add to the back wall inside chamber, add a third baffle to the left side to pull it farther from the port opening releasing choke hold on air flow from other sub, build another box and tune it different, use aeros, ceterport etc..

take out the L and add another layer to the port wanna, the L port is the problem, try getting the subs alot closer together and as far to the passenger side as u can, so just rebuild the front baffle and it might be better.

New set of recones seems to drink up all of both 5k's strapped at 2ohms(1 ohm apiece.).
Xtra stiff suspension seems to want more power. LOL Good sign.

Ross thats a pretty good stretch comparing a trunk to an suv no matter how much tape I have in for testing. LOL
No worries the tape won't be there in June.
So how bout a trunk battle? I was thinking of adding a side attraction Battle of The Trunks

2 amps strapped at 2 ohm 149.2:crap: re wire them to .25 apiece roll into a 150.7 and pulled the spider ring off the landing:crap:
Since it came off so cleanly( lack of glue on spider landing, my fault) I centered and re glued it. Back in the box it goes.
Pulled the 2nd amp and pushed the box back.
Test with 1 5k at .5 trunk un sealed
Test with same settings trunk sealed this time
Looks like box centered pushed as far back as possible and sealed is the loudest for my GP.
Final stages and a permanent seal job ( has shown to gain .5-.8) under way next.

No Problem. I basically added (extended) the box forward with 2 sides and a top connected to the face of the box.
