Since '08 is winding down..thoughts of next year have entered by mind. And I want a liitle input from the DB Drag family. I pose this question:

What would you do to a CRX to give it general public appeal for a bass racer/demo car?

As much as I want to make it a tone monster...my heart just isnt into it. I watched many of you guys demo your cars and it was the fun..and thats what I want. So point me in the right direction or at least a general one.

Thanks

that's the best thing about bass race, you can do anything! If I was building an all out show vehicle, I would either make a fiberglass box or a plexi box. haven't seen it done in a while....

CRXs are kind of played out so it would be hard to get it to be very appealing.
Now if you fit 12 12s in there or 20 10s, that would be great.

As Ed stated,id do a bunch of small woofers. If t was me i'd do a boat load of 8's,i wold think it would be the easiest to fit alot in there seeing its a smaller woofer.

20 - 8"s in an old school suspended diamond... that would be hard to fit in a crx

I saw a CRX with 8 15's in it back in 98. They were RF XLC's in a clamshell powered off of two RF 500.2's. It was doing a 153 or so back then, but with the equiptment available now you could easily get a much better score.

We did 8 Petra Prowler 12s in a 1st gen CRX back in 95ish. That was a fun project.

Dont do a diamond!!! You will be disappointed in the long run.... do a clamshell. My diamond setup just didnt live up to what it should have been and I've heard bad things from others about them

umm the king of bass runs a sealed diamond
so it cant be that bad... as a matter of fact its f***ing loud
most people just build them as a normal box when in fact they are a 4th order bp and the tuning of the box is just stupid and sound like ass
so if designed right diamonds are the sh*t
ask tommy

Do a 4th order bandpass or make it a 6th order when you wind down the window, think about it [Wink]
