keyboards and words don't always convey what the person is trying to say but with that said it's more than clear that music is what the masses want afterall what overall marketable value is it to not hear a particular sub(s) outside the small spl community ?

justin you know me, i wasnt trying to bash him but im tired of hearing him say that he gets no respect for his 180 and how he only did it with one sub and always bringing up scott. were tired of hearing the same ol Sh1t from alan. and how great Stetsom is doing. Its fine to promote your product but you know as well as i and along with many others on the forum that the way he comes off is not kewl and people are tired of it. ill tell you what, since he wants to talk about cash how about i put up umm lets say a cool grand, and ill take my btls and my old orion 2500ds and put it up against anything he wants to build for daily and we compete in bassrace for a cool grand. winner take all. Alan you game?

I don't want to take away from anything Alan has achieved Because we all know breaking 180 is a huge milestone for this sport or hobby. But with the attitude like that, it makes me think "who gives a f***" with talk like that. Show me a 3 sec, 170+ burp car and I will show you a bassracer that can barely break a 150 steal his thunder every time. I know I will never be loud but I can bet ya I can make people forget all about that burp when I am willing to give demos and hairtricks all day to the people.

So back to topic. Extreme bass race.. yes but not with test tones.. thats ghey and boring... why not put in mids and highs and see if u can bass race over 160 with Lil jon in the Volvo. that'd be cool to see...
And yes Alan 180 is very very very very impressive... but also very boring to watch.... i want to see windshields flexing... roofs breaking ala assman!

Based on my customers, I'd say they wouldn't be impressed by 180dB. Because of course some of my customer's have friends hitting 163dB with two audiobahn 10's and a Dual amplifer. Or so they say..."Yeah, I want some rockford P3's. I want to be louder than my friend. He runs two jensen 12"s and a 2000W Pyle amp. He's only hitting 164 decibels, so hopefully I can do around 175."

I agree. . Music based systems are marketable. DB Drag can be boring for sure. Being able to capture an audience is what it's all about. If there is an audience, there will be sponsors and more participation by competitors and the industry.
Music is where it's at. The other key component to bass race that I think makes it fun to watch is the fact that anyone can win on any given day. I also agree about the secret life of DB Drag competitors. . They hide everything .. With Bass Race, you see cars opened up to look at and demoing all day .. it really makes for more fun, bottom line.
On the other hand, I think the way to "shut someone up" is to beat them. So, if everyone is tired of hearing a pioneer of the sport talk .. beat him!
Better yet, I would like to see Alan build the loudest bass racer he can within the current rules. . If he beats you, you shut up.
I'm not loud yet, so I will now shut up .. lol

even if we sat inside it and studied it, we could never build it exactly the same. so why not show it off?

This sounds like the real world... and this is where companys make profit. I'll bet that most of the kids buying equipment have never heard of Alan, but they could tell you every detail they've seen about Steve Meade and Randys builds and etc etc..
