Topic: Camp...i hate welding! new pics 4/23
whew, finally got 99% of the passenger side finished. Was welding along on the outside just going at it...had been welding for 5 minutes or so straight...then I start feeling something stinging my hip...ok no big deal just welding slag right? Well I keep going and the pain on my side keeps spreading and getting worse...so finally I stop welding and look down...my whole leg is covered in ants... What a great time! On a positive note I got most of my measurements for the angle for the dog house and will start on it tomorrow --------------------

And before the question gets asked... I had to leave some spaces to be able to run wires when I needed to It took me forever to get the sliding door to close, had to notch to into the steel over an inch then I had to bend and hammer and cuss and finally got the door where it can close and the enclosure is as tall as it can be. So overall dimensions up to the dog house...are 42'' tall, 65'' wide, and 51'' deep. Then plus the dog house I should have around 100 cubes once its finished and have a super strong enclosure...and its only back to the wheel wells --------------------

well i decided to stop being lazy and get back to work. Got all debts settled and after a 3 month break from welding its time to hit head on! Going to finish laying some welds down to strengthen whats in there then start on the roof which is gonna be a PITA I'll put some pics up tomorrow afternoon sometime. After I get the enclosure finished I have to take it to the trans shop, just all of a sudden the trans won't grab ANY gear, but if I put it in gear and rev it for a little bit it finally catches. Any ideas? --------------------

fluid level seems fine, its a 20 year old + trans so I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and get it rebuilt. Hell after I get the trans built I might get the motor rebuilt and I might drive this thing lol Also talked my brother into letting me use his Dodge 3500 whenever I need it so I've got a pretty decent tow vehicle. Anyone know of anyone selling a decent trailer? --------------------

Not yet...i'm going to finish the shell of the enclosure then take it to the shop. I started figuring....1k for a trans rebuild is a lot cheaper then having to buy a truck, and snugtop which would be around 2500 for a decent running truck + 1200 for a snugtop. This one isn't going to be super pretty but its going to be super loud --------------------
