and decided to make it easier on me so I cut it out and going to layer steel in just like the back of the enclosure.

I was cleaning out the shop today and I found an OLLLLLLLLLDDDDDD Stick Welder, its probobly 20+ years old.

It took some getting used to but It gives a lot better weld and I it burns a lot better.

Going to start cutting metal tomorrow to layer in the passenger side, then I get to start on the angle for the dog house [Smile]

You want the enclosure to be acoustically dead.

I'm going to do 3 layers of 1'' or 3/4'' birch on the inside and see how it feels.

Then if push comes to shove that roof is coming off. I just don't want to wish I had done something different 6 months from now

I love driving my truck to shows and a few times a week to work, I was going to add more batts. this year but it was going to make me not drive it so I got to work with what I have now. Plus a trailer and a big truck I really can't afford that at all or have the room for it. Good luck with your build and hope to see you bass racing again.

Pipo, we've known each other for how long? 5+ years?

You know me man, I talk alot of crap but I'm usually just jerking your chain.

I've had some problems the past year or so in getting my old truck where it needed to be. Before I sold it with the 4 18s it would do almost a 160 bass race with 5kw per woofer. But I never got to show it at a show.

I miss competing in bass race so much, and I can't wait to finally get back in it this year!

I can't believe I missed SBN though [Frown]

I dont think Pipo was calling you out Justin, as he told me the same thing at SBN about not wanting to be on top.
You know it...

well got all the passenger side welded up...but i didn't get any pics cause I'm lazy lol

Gonna get some angle iron tomorrow and start mocking up the dog house to get some measurements...then I get to start welding that up outside the car.

Should have the dog house put in and finished up before the weekend.

Then I'll spend all weekend doing some beads on every single piece. Then grind it back smooth and get some wood ready to go in there [Smile]

also....after a lot of thinking....

I think I'm just going to do street max with this van.

Its TONS cheaper for now.

Then later on in the summer I can build a truck for bass race. And i still end up being cheaper then having to spend 10k on batteries and 15k on amps + 4/5k for woofers.

So yeah...this ss5+ build just got changed into a street max build [Smile]

guys, what fun is it to have a bass racer that you can't drive to every show?

I mean, part of me wants to do JUST bass race with this thing, but then I can't drive it around so I say whats the point right?

All that is built is the enclosure. And it would still be an awesome super street or smax enclosure.

But I'd rather have something I can drive to use for an extreme bass race build.

What fun is it to have to trailer it to a show...unload it...then play it? Pulling up with it jamming is half the fun of a show

if that is what you wanted then why start building a vehicle you knew you couldnt drive to a show?

what exactly is the reason you can not drive the van?

I mean. It can drive. My brother drove it everyday for 5 years doing service calls.

But the seats were 12" behind the b pillar. The way its gonna be setup now there is no way I can drive that thing and it be comfortable.

Who knows. I'll probobly change my mind 8 times this month. But for now I just dont see myself trying to drive this thing to shows. And the more I thought about it. Not being able to drive a bass racer doesnt make sense.

I mean I could make a crazy ass demo that would be pretty sick.

Im just gonna get the enclosure finished and go from there

Is the port going to be on the drivers side? If so and the port is big enought the seat might be able to tilt back into the port when you drive it.
