If competitors in Drags can't be in the vehicle during runs over 140 db then maybe the rules should be the same with Bass Race, unless people want to wear the hearing protection. I understand it sucks wearing some sweaty hearing protection, I wear them all day at work, but considering how much money we all spend on our systems you'd think people wouldn't be so d*mned cheap and would just buy their own for $29.99. It'll cost a lot less than the hearing aide's you'll all need soon. Maybe not double up on the protection, but at least have the smarts to use something.

Not to say we need another rule, but maybe this one would be a good rule. And it should be applied to both drags and Bass race. I'd think it would be worse on the hearing to sit for 30 seconds at high levels than it would be for a few seconds.

The hearing protection would take some of the fun away from it in my eyes. I don't think I'd risk my equipment to run ear muffs.

You donīt want to risk your equipment but you donīt have any problems with taking a big risk with your hearing?
When you go deaf at least you still will have your equipment in good condition, even tho you canīt hear it

Well actually I haven't seen any proof that bass destroys hearing. Higher freq's are considerably more likely to hurt hearing. So from now on are we going to start making people with loud highs wear protection. I have a system pushing mid 150's musical and sometimes when I get into people's cars with stock highs and they turn them up too loud they hurt my ears..and MANY people with aftermarket highs kill my hearing when i get in I have to plug my ears if they have too much treble.. So you tell me which hurts hearing worse. highs or bass. And I sat in rio's full volume door tricked on my side and didn't hurt my ears even a little, just body.Focus on the REAL problem before crying about something that appears to be the problem because obviously highs do far more damage!!!So correct the highs issue then come back and talk to me

Also... i will say this. even if bass does cause hearing loss it is minium in relation to what is lost on highs
