Just put a line in the bottom of the slip you have to sign when you pay your fees to compete at the show.
Have it say that any damage to your hearing or anything of that sort is not your fault and dB Drag Racing is not liable for what happens to you, your equipment, or vehicle. Then say that hearing protection is suggested, but not required.
Im pretty sure most of the shows down here that Henry and Mike put on at least one of them has a set of earmuffs that people can wear if they want.

No offense to anyone, but I'm not even remotely going to entertain the thought of wearing earmuffs that have been on every o ther sweaty competitors head. No thanks, I'll pass.

I like being able to hear whats going on with my truck [/QB][/QUOTE] My thoughts exactly! If I'm on the verge of destroying something, I need to be able to hear when I'm pushing my system too hard.

alcohol pads would fix the whole sweaty earphone thing. I have huge hearing problems, ruptured eardrum several times and 2 skin grafts to repair them. Like someone else mentioned its also a liability issue. Someone comes back and sues wayne ten years from now because of hearing loss, they paid him to run for 30 seconds in a damaging environment....yadda yadda yadda its a long shot but if you can get million over hot coffee......

If this rule does go into effect I can for sure say that bass race is a definate no for me. I'm sure that I'm not the only one either a lot of other people probably agree. If we are being told what we can and can't do with our own cars then I will not support any organization that puts limits on my own personal freedoms.Period

Its like NASCAR drivers saying they wont wear a helmet even though its in the rules.
We need dB Drag to show well to the public, caring about competitors hearing, even if its only for the 30 seconds they compete in it shows they care.

This is the same case for me. I have to EQ the system as I 'pump up the jam'...to harsh on the highs/mids or bass, I equalize it.

In all actuality we "should" be setting an example for the general public. I don't like wearing them, but, if a ruling is made for them, I will. I don't think 30 seconds is gonna bother me any since I listen to my system at the same volume level all the time. Whether I'm at a show or cruising down the road, or sitting in my driveway.
