with the oem skin rule. You can not make the painted surface area larger than it came from the factory. It is the same for a truck topper. It has to a be a factory market oem tupe replacement. Meaning you can make the top of the topper a foot taller than it was intended to be. You can how ever cut the the floot of the truck out and build a enclosed area under the truck for the extra storage.
