I have a friend who has his box in the back of an RX7. The box extend above the "wall" line across the bottom of the window. My question is this, since the enclosure is in the hatch, is the hatch the same thing as a trunk in that ruling since there is no limit to the height of the box in the trunk? I thought that this would be illegal in SS 1-2 no wall but he contends that the hatch is actually the trunk so it is legal.

If this was the case, then what would stop someone from building a real wall and just saying that the hatch is the trunk? Hope someone can clearify this for me.

Thanks
