I am wondering if you could help me out a little with box sizes that work for S15L7's. I have 2 of them and have been desperately trying to get some big volume out of them but all I am able to do is get less and less. I am about to try a 6cuft box with a smallish port and see what happens. What has worked for you? They also seem to be getting very hot at the moment, I'm wondering if it's maybe the box and port being to big for them. I'm running 1 JBL BP1200.1 per sub as well. If you could help me out in anyway that would be great as trying to get help down here in New Zealand can be difficult at times.

Hey, I can help better than that. I just forwarded your message on to the techs at Kicker and they should be contacting you via email shortly. They will need more information, but I think they will be able to help you.
By the way, most manufacturers should have tech support people available for their products and should be able to help their customers. I know my sponsors do and that is one "benefit" that I consider an absolute necessity. Without you - there is no industry.
Take care and good luck.

If you could tell us what kind of vehicle you have, how your subs are firing. (general box description) and what your goals for your system are. (SPL only, SPL with daily driving, or just daily driving) We, here on the forum and Kicker tech, can better help you, get to where YOU want to be.
Let us know.

This is a little box I am building for an S-10, with L715's. This design is for STREET BASS not tuned for SPL.
7.0ft3 gross enclosure per sub. All displacements are already figured. 50in2 port 15 3/4" long (port made out of 3/4" material) This will tune the box to aprox. 32Hz. This enclosure should handle 1000 watts easy. The only problem is with port noise IF you exceede(sp) 1200 watts per sub.

The car is an early VW Passat, currently setup with a wall behind the front seats. It is 30cuft gross with a port that is about the same size as both subs.
I want the box just for SPL, I maybe able to play with the port enough to make it work for a bit of daily driving to. But basically just to be able to get close to 160dB would be good.
Thankyou for the help, I figured this would be the best place to go.
I am going to have to turn you over to the "Brains" at Stillwater. My specialty is "Old School" street bass. The kind you hear for blocks, and plays so low you can feel your insides move.
Please let us know how it turns out.
