Hey alma, its me shaun and ive got a question for ya, once again Ive got two JL 12W-3's right now and i was told these were the best jl subs out. i now know there are jl w-6 subs and im wondering why the guys told me the w3's were the better one. there isnt too much difference between them, the w6 are 50 watts more powerwise, but its the ohms im concerned with. the w3 are 2ohm and the w-6 are 6 ohm. Since im running these off of a phoenix gold 600TI amp (MONO) does it make much of a difference? My subs are in a sealed box with one terminal. im assuming they are wired in series, theyre DVC. im just wondering if this is why theyre not sounding like i want them too.. any advice?? thanks so much

Hi there,
Not to bust your bubble, but I don't think Alma is a JL Audio Advisor. As for your question, Are the subs Dual 2 or 4-Ohm Voice Coils? I think that amp runs best at 4-Ohm Mono but can run at 2-Ohm Mono. If they are Dual 2-Ohm, it would be best to series the voice coils on the subs and run the subs paralleled to the amp. That would give you a 2-Ohm Load (Correct me if I'm wrong). If they are Dual 4-Ohm, I would do the same thing. This should give you a 4-Ohm Mono Load. Hopefully this helps, but probably not =) If they still don't sound to your likes...get rid of them and get something good! =) J/k
