I think I have posted this before.. I have a 2001 12" L7.. I have emailed support@kicker.com several times for a box design. I'm looking for spl. First they told me to do the "spl" box which is 2.5 cu^ft. It was 3 db's lower than my current box which is around 3.25 cu^ft.. so I emailed them back and then I have been told to go for a 3.65 cu^ft box with a port that is 13.25" X 3" x 14.5" long.. will this be good? or does anyone have any better ideas? Thanks! [Smile]

Whats up chris B, as far as what Kicker recommends the 2.5 is supposed to be for SPL/SQ and the 3.25 is supposed to be for more SPL than anything. I think you should stay with the 3.25 cause that is what they have told me also and this info has came from POLECAT and a couple others on this forum. If you are trying to find the original spec sheets I have them, I just have to search for them. If you want them just tell me and I will email them to you. It is the original with the updated specs for the box. I also have the 2001 12"L7s so we are both looking for the same thing and I have gone throug a couple of boxes and I have to tell you I have had the best sound and SPL from the 3.25. Well let me know CHRIS B laters. OH I never heard of kicker recommending the 3.65 so please let me know how it goes if you build it. I am in germany so do not think of me as a threat..lol..i will not compete against you

Chris, hold off until Monday. I cannot reach any one until then. Long weekends sucks when you want to reach someone at work.

Sounds like the box and recommended port size was vehicle specific for you. I would try that box. Te larger 3.25 cu.ft box is for max SPL for a daily driver, but not 'needed' only at that size. If you gave the guys at tech support the size you have to work with and a frequency to work towards, that box would be prime for you they mentioned.
