I first became aware of car audio when Patrick was about 13 years old. He was always reading the audio magazines and designing this dream install. I am 42 years older than Patrick, it it occured to me that this might be a way to keep communication open between us.

When Patrick was 16, I gave him the bronco and next thing I knew he had a couple of RF 15s in the back. That was the when I discovered the back came off the bronco! I came home one day and that bronco was all over the garage.

After the initial shock of seeing my car taken apart by a group of boys, my blood pressure settled down and I started watching what they were doing. There was so much learning going on in that garage - most was trial and error - but they always managed to get the results they wanted.

Many cars passed through that garage during the next couple of years. It was a hoot to see these cars come out finished and playing. Not competition quality, but for a group of 16-17 year olds, darn good.

My grocery bill tripled - the best thing was that I knew where the boys were after school and on weekends. I doubt if most of their parents knew where they were. LOL - during these very short years, we all developed interesting dress formats - we never knew who would be on the floor or sofa.

During this time, I was a spectator and just Mom. In 1996 we decided to turn the bronco into a competition vehicle. Again, We paid Streamline Audio to do the work. We had very little involvement. I did not like this situation. It was not my car!

1997 - we began the new install. Pat took a year off school and I worked at my office until 3:30 and went to the install bay and worked on the bronco. We spent many long nights working on that thing, but it was a labor of love. If you can understand that. We were doing something as a team and that team became a family. That group is now scattered all over the industry, but we are still very close.

During this time, I learned to solder, helped in the bondo, fiber glass, sanding, plexi, most of the wires were soldered by me. We had a data capturing program in the bornco - I helped Dennis build it and it worked!

ok - some background. Now what excites me? Truthfully, none of this. It's fun. It's work. It's rewarding to see the finished product and to get the numbers you want. But, what really gets and keeps me going is meeting all of the people who are or want to be involved in Car audio. It's such a wonderful world to play in and there is no limitations to what a person can do in car audio.
