I'm a member of ARSTechnica.com's Open Forums and a "regular" in the Audio/Video Forum. Today, while looking for some information on a couple issues at work, I stubled by the following thread: Why are Subs so big?.

It began as a question relating to PC 2.1 - 5.1 sub sets, but quickly expanded into home - car subs as well. The thread wound its way around to the competition circuit and Ms. Gates came up in a reference to "mom".

I tried to post a correct statement, but I was wondering if you & those here could read through and let me know if I've "mispoken". If so, please let me know and I'll post a correction. I tried to keep it a very neutral tone, quite miffed can I become when people dis my hobbies & those of my friends & colleagues.

When one walks up to a small hole in the sand, do they...

1. stick their head inside the hole, to see what is inside (at the risk of getting stuck)?
2. shine a flashlight, so they can avoid getting thier head stick inside?

From some of the post I read in that thread (not yours), it seem like some should have used the flashlight. [Big Grin]
