Hello. I understand your question. Our records are good for only one year. Each year, we can set a new record. The new record may not be as high as the record set the year before. This is a very good rule because it permits competitors to set a new record and not have to worry about unusually large scores from the previous year.
Thank you for asking. Please keep in touch.

We would like to have the bronco ready sometime in August. We have no idea what db we will hit at this time. It should be louder than the old install; but we will not know for sure until we get the install finished and do some testing on it. The testing equipment available in 1998 would not read the bronco. There is improved equipment available now - so I guess we will just have to wait and see.
I have the team picture on my office wall - I am looking at it now. Please tell everyone hello.
Keep in touch - I love hearing from you.

Thank you for your reply and a big HELLO from all TEAM-KIENZLE members. At the moment we are thinking how we can get our van over to the US for World Finals and if we are allowed to compete. I posted a topic in Waynes dB-drag related questions forum, but he didn't reply. We don't know if we have enough points to make it to the finals or if we must wait for an invitation or if our van goes by the rules. It would be very disapointing if we come over there and they tell us we can not compete. So we hope you can help us out.
Greetings from Germany Hope to see you at World Finals

I was at finals and saw the Astro van from Japan compete. It was very cool.Just seeing someone who wants to compete against the very best actually coming that far to compete!I say there should be a clause in the rule book that if a Team from a foriegn(non North American)country wants to bring a vehicle over than points should be thrown out the window. If they want to compete that bad then I say it should be encouraged and every thing the DBDRA could do to help them feel at home should be done.I think it definately adds to the hype at Finals.I hope your team can make it over here!

I also was happy to see the Astro Van at the finals. Although it was a shock to see my install in a Chevy! Sure wanted to put a Ford Logo on that thing! LOL
I personally think it would be an added benefit to have representation from other countries at finals - it could become a real World Record event.
One would think that if a car from - Japan, Germany, Panama, etc. . qualified for finals in their country and wanted to attend db Drag finals in the States, some sort of arrangements could be made for them to compete.
The rules are available and if they are competing db drag in their country, their cars should be - theoretically - compling with the written rules.
Install pictures, any questions concerning legality of install could always be emailed to Wayne for clarification.
TeamKienzie, Wayne has been made aware of your concerns. Good Luck and I hope to see you at finals.

Yes the bronco did catch on fire before the 98 finals.
We were all in our shop and nothing seemed to go right - The bronco at times has a will of its own, just as its owner.
It has been a bad morning and as we were leaving for lunch - Rick sort of kicked a tire and said something to the effect that he wished the d--n thing would just burn up.
We came back from lunch and there was smoke coming out from under the hood.
As most of you know, when you have that many batteries and power, its not a good thing. There were 2 wires running from the alternator on the right side to that bank of batteries - the guys were trying to decide what to do - so I sort of told them that it was my car and to cut both wires! No big deal - until you try to reattach them and they are too short!
Hey - those things happen. It turned out to be a rubber gasket that was too close to the manifold which had been heating for quite a while. It had nothing to do with the audio install. It just happened to decide to really get hot at that time. So you see, It is all Ricks fault!!!!He should have been nicer to the Bronco. LOL (Rick, if you read this, I still love you!)

Thunder- you need to add a Factory Five Cobra in the mix. I am sure that Saleen would make a good donor car...I am also sure the Saleen would look good in my drive way...Oh, I need a new car...
Here is an idea for the next Team Gates "install"- a 427 side oiler in a Factory Five Cobra. A stereo? You have 500 HP 20" from you head- all the stereo a person needs...

Alma - have you decided on your competiton schedule yet? If your vehicle is ready, I invite your team to compete at the www.SPLMAX.com Laborday Show, September 4th. This is a double points event.

We are not getting all our products until sometime in August - that really cuts our time short, so there can be no promises - we will be at finals though - even if we have to bring that thing in pieces!
