i was talking to a buddy of mine that went to finals in kansas and he had some pics of the beast up close... *drool* anyways we were discussing what you (alma) might have up your sleeve this year.... basically, he said if he had a dollar to spend, he'd bank on you going for larger, fewer woofers..... and PORTED... now i'm not saying you are going ported and i'm not saying you aren't... but i AM saying that even a wittew biddy hint wouldn't hurt anyone...
you don't even need to tell everyone... just me!!!! haha! the pm button is always open... and i won't tell ANYONE *cross my heart and hope to die....* cept maybe the chinese or the russians..... they pay well for nuclear secrets, or the equivalency of that!!

LoL dud ill give ya one thing if anyone can talk Alma into telling im sure you can than nuke secrt thing was pretty good. But I bet that she will be running ported subs also but i would think that somehow they managed to keep the 48 10's but thats just me. Mabie just put them all in one huge box with a huge port in the middle he he he well it may happen but I'll tell ya Alma wont talk on the subject weve all tried but anyways good luck on trying to figure it out ill wait till SBN to see in person.
Thanks Rayme J. Traub

So you know how awesome it would be if Alma broke 180 for the first time! Nothing would be cooler than that to make a comback like that and show that shes back to be the Queen of db competiton (she is but you know what I mean). I have a funny feeling that was originally the goal of the sealed box beast. I probably know less than any person on here about the beast in detail as I have only seen pictures (I was a big fan of Alma back with the PPI setup, still am) , but from the looks of it the cab is the sealed box and the woofers are firing inverted into it, so when the doors are closed the cu.ft. volume or close to it is reached. And why the heck else would you run 48 ZR1000's (correct me if I'm wrong on the count) but thats a rediculous ammount of power. I can't see how you could keep the voltage upped with that many amps thats a sick amount of current draw. I could place a safe bet that voltage problems are what kept it from breaking 180. I always wondered when i used to compete sealed what would happen if for outlaw if I pulled a plug out of my older sealed boxes and dropped the mic down in. Well it probly sounds rediculous, but anyways I think shes gonna do it this time.

LOL - You know, that Oscar Meyer Wienermobile has always facinated me! Can you imagine that thing with woofers? OMG!! Can you put square in round?
We are not going away. The Team Gates name will be out this year and competing. The Bronco and I are going to try the marketing bit and let people see, hear, and feel the beast! It's going to be a fun year!!!

Tail pipe I thought it was just coming right out of the headers . I think we are on to something that is how he is getting extra dB's while doing his Sq. He is picking up 20-30 more dB's with the exhaust. I can see it now mic reading 148 and the system is not even on just the car running.

Hrm...4800 cubic feet in current install +/- (from another thread) =
48 10s 75 8s 113.6 6.5s (if Kicker does an L5/L7 6.5 mid-bass)
Just thinking weird things at the end of the day & bottom of the Diet Coke can. But...that would shock people, especially if Ms. Gates could still hit the numbers with the 6.5s.
I think Bose did some research a while back on using an array of 5.25s for their Home Theatre towers while everyone else used 8s, 10s, 12s, & 15s. At "X" distance away, they acted like 1 big woofer (area of 5.25s Xs # of 5.25s)....
I dunno, lost myself in my own unlogic. Caffeine-O-Meter is getting low again....*sigh*
