I got around to thinking today about the Beast, and how everything works on it. I started to think about how much all those 10's, amps, batteries, wiring, sound dampening, everything, weighs. I got around to some rough figures and I came out with about 2000-3000lbs of extra weight at least in the back of that Bronco! What I am curious to know is what kind (if any) suspension upgrades have occured on the Bronco to handle this weight, and also how much the weight of the Bronco has changed over the years (from its fledgling setup to its last finished 2k1 status). Sorry, this question has just really been bugging me

Interesting question. The bronco is a standard size bronco which probably weighed stock at around 3400lbs. You all can correct me on that one. Its been too long ago to remember the original weight.

We removed all the electronic stuff from it in 1998. It has a 5 gallon fuel tank and old fashion fuel pump.

Until last month, we had 48 L7gs;48-Zr1000, 45 batteries, 4-280 amp powermaster alternators, over a mile of Tsunami wire, plus all the fittings.

The windshield is 3 inch glass, each door has 1 inch glass and is steel and alum reinforced. The bed is all steel reinforced to support the weight. The cabin is 1 inch honey comb alum/steel/and fiberglass. The truck top is filled with dynamat - when we shut the doors, the cabin is air tight. There are no holes or leaks.

The truck has 6 inch lifts. The rear end was changed to a 9 inch ford rear end a few years back for better support. There is a lot of welding and support under the truck and really the only way to fully understand is to crawl under and look. (and you are welcome to do this)

The rig & bronco came home right after CES for servicing. It was weighed on our certified scale - the official weight is 12,500 lbs.

Yeah Right, then I would be accused of putting the stuff in the cabin!

We foam our loader tires so we don't get flats in landfills, etc. - Perhaps that is an answer - although that foam is heavy. LOL, I had Pats bike tires foamed once - never had a flat tire, wore the tires to the rim, slowed the little sucker down for awhile, and built up those leg muscles!! He was like 5 or 6 at the time and loved riding in the desert. Oh those memories. lol
