Alma could you do me a favor, when you are in Daytona, if you see a huge silver Excursion, with NOLMT1 on the tag, with an alpine border around it, please tell him to lay off the alcohol, he called me last night and sounded like he was about to die. Oh yeah, thanks for letting me sit in the Beast at Nopi Nats

Its easier to make arrangements for you to sit in the bronco than to keep your friend from drinking himself stupid. If I see him, I will give him your message.

Thank you Brett. If we really want this industry to grow, it requires all of us working together as a unit to make it happen.

At times I think it's just an old ladys' dream, but then I think - how do we know what will happen if we don't try? It seems so simple, yet we all know it is not. You will always have those out there doing the self serving thing. It's just human nature.

A very wise man once told me that I (Team Gates)was making a difference. True, we were selling products of our sponsors, but at the same time making that pie bigger and all the industry was sharing from that bigger cut. I have always remembered that comment by Loyd Ivey of Mitek. Thank you, Loyd - believe it or not - you have kept me going.

exactly how do we go about joining ? i do not belong to an actual "team", unless you count myself and the guys in my shop. we do not compete every weekend like some, but enjoy helping each other get the most out of what each vehicle has to offer. so i guess in a way we are a team that just enjoys having fun and learning whenever we get a chance. our rides are open to anyone that cares to look and we are always willing to share whatever knowldege we have. we would be honored to fly the Team Gates logo in Magnolia and wherever we may go. what kind of info do you need from us? thanks for your time.

Mike

Hey Mike. If you can do the following then Email Alma personally about the decal. I fly 2 decals on my truck and because of it, my truck was broken into. To no prevail that wont stop me from being in car audio and competition again.

Everything from this line on was from Alma Gates 1st post in this topic.

We came up with a few simple requirements, which are:

1. Sportsmanship
2. Promote your products
3. Promote your organization(s)
4. Promote the industry
5. NO PRODUCT BASHING
6. * Make a conscience effort to operate system in a non-obtrusive manner.
7. *Respect rights of others
8. Vehicle open (please read new post-3-20-02)
9. Willingness to talk to people
10. Willingness to help others
11. Have fun
12. You must like cheesecake! (sorry-weaker moment)

If you can comply to these requirements, which are not as easy as they appear, let me know. It's that easy. We have nothing to sell and require nothing (no blood type, first child, etc.) except being an ambassador to Team Gates and the Industry.

** After the discussions in this post, I have added a couple more requirements. I think most of us do these anyway, but it is good to have them in writing.

I am sure as we go on, you will come up with others that might help to make us all better competitors and at least put the thought in the minds of others. Thanks....

mike, do you think a little decal caused your truck to get broken into? i dont believe that could be it. it mighta attracted some attention, but they werent after the decal. thats the risk you take without an alarm. sorry bro but thats that on it.

as for the rules, i cant help myself with rule 6. see, that button thingy makes it go boom even louder and i like to see how loud that boom thingy can get, especially when Junior bumpers out there are listening to mine over theirs!
ps. my truck has steal-me stickers i cant remove, the plates say ITSLOUD.

Hey Alma, I know I haven't been around the car audio industry as longas some of the people around here but I have read many great things about yourself and your team, and love the car audio scene yet not into comps yet myself, but was jsut wondering if you ever saw Team Gates doing anything in the SQ side of things, cause all I hear about is you guys doing SPL and for me, I like the SQ side more and jsut wondering if this idea ever crossed your mind, and if so I would be interesting in learning more of some future plans,

thanks,

Blake, Pat and I have done Sq - we had a F350 dually that took first place at IASCA finals in 1996 in SQ - Novice when the bronco did its thing. We also had a 1997 Explorer that started to compete in 1999/2000 but got lost in the shuffle..Its coming out again in the future. I love Sq and would like to see more people involved in that portion of competition.

Email - support@kicker.com - the techs should be able to help you with a box design for the L7s.

For general information - most manufacturers have a tech department with talents in designing boxes for their products and if they don't - they should. We need to make use of these facilities - hey - you all pay for it.

I just need a name and mailing address.
