Team Gates is not the normal "Team". This information is posted below in some post, but I could not find it this morning.
Patrick and I decided that we would like to share and encourage more people to get involved in the sport. Many competitors do not belong to a known organized team and truthfully many will not get on them - because they require using certain products, attend certain shows, win so many events, etc., and that is great for those. But we want people to go out - compete, and have fun.
We came up with a few simple requirements, which are:
1. Sportsmanship 2. Promote your products 3. Promote your organization(s) 4. Promote the industry 5. NO PRODUCT BASHING 6. * Make a conscience effort to operate system in a non-obtrusive manner. 7. *Respect rights of others 8. Vehicle open (please read new post-3-20-02) 9. Willingness to talk to people 10. Willingness to help others 11. Have fun 12. You must like cheesecake! (sorry-weaker moment)
If you can comply to these requirements, which are not as easy as they appear, let me know. It's that easy. We have nothing to sell and require nothing (no blood type, first child, etc.) except being an ambassador to Team Gates and the Industry.
** After the discussions in this post, I have added a couple more requirements. I think most of us do these anyway, but it is good to have them in writing.
I am sure as we go on, you will come up with others that might help to make us all better competitors and at least put the thought in the minds of others. Thanks....

5. NO PRODUCT BASHING : not that silly but i do have my personal oppinion of products
We all have our personal opinions, but nothing sucks, nothing rules, there is no "best" - products are a matter of individual preference and budget. That's why we have an industry.
But if you are serious, please email me at azspl@aol.com. Later

I thank Alma for the decals and i can not thank her enough. I have the Decals on my side rear x-cab windows at the bottom so there easily seen and I am always asked about what they stand for and ect. Although I dont compete very much I still have lots of fun helping others, showing what I have (right now, i have nothing plus my Kicker ZR1000's are in Marion IL with Team Sweep, Greg if your reading this, dont forget to send my amps back bro ) For those of you curious, he needed help for USAC Finals and i was nice enough to help him out. As for the decals, they are there to remind me why I am into car audio and that its my way of life that can be taken away but can always be replaced if that should ever happen. I feel sorry for the person if I ever get my hands on them regardless of the law :-D
As you can see PuRpS, The decal is more then just a decal, its a banner of pride, promotion, and respect to others. This is also why I fly the Team Gates logo in my Termpro posts signature,

Agreed and ditto. That also means operating your system in a non-obtrusive manner as well.

AMEN.. I agree with Audio as well.. WE are not the late night "boomers". support your products, and when possible, inform people, when asked, what it is, that we actually do. we are the NHRA of car audio.. still in the infant stages though. but we are getting bigger.
btw.. I have yet to put the Team Gates decals ( again...thank you very much Ma!) on my car. I want to have it ready to compete first. ( then again.. I can always put them on my podium.. hehe)

our system is far from being a late nite BOOMER strictly competition system , we have new laws about loud cars now you can actually loose point off your licence for having your system turned up (we all have different views on this matter)
but yes we cant gain respect from the public untill we respect them and turn it down (some times) :P

Think that needs to be included in the rules. It's an excellant thought and should be promoted because we do not want to be identified with the random kid on the street booming through neighborhoods - we need to promote tolerance and consideration of others with our cars.
