I've got goals too this season - repeat as zone points champ, top 5 at SBN and top 5 at finals. I'd love to place #1 but I'm not gonna be too greedy yet. Still working on finding some drags for you - NOPI's the only one I've found so far. If you don't mind heading to Tennessee or the Carolinas, there are always a few there as well.
Craig, I see nothing wrong with your posts. Actually quite calm compared to some of them in the past. Never give up those goals because you will never know what you can do or become if you don't give it a try.
Trust me, if I think something is not appropriate in this section of TermPro, I have no problem letting you or anyone else know.

Agreed! You can have this attitude, but ONLY with yourself. If this attitude were to show in any form throughout the season, you'd be canned faster than a netted sardine.
As 17 yr old's who have very little competition experience, you will soon learn that having the best equipment/vehicle is not even half of what it takes to be competitive at a world finals level. It takes time and dedication as well. In a lot of classes, install is everything, and missing the port tuning by 1 Hz could move you from 1st to 5th.
I'd estimate it closer from 1st to not even qualifying in some classes - like no wall and ss1-2
I suggest that you attend several competitions and get a feel for what works and what doesn't, and prove to the manufacturers that you are dedicated and have the time it takes to compete before you go looking for a sponsorship.
wisdom in its truest form!

hey there is an old phrase i heard once... it goes like this "the best things in life AREN'T free" this is true when it comes to sponsorships. it isn't easy at all. believe me. BUt we all make due. save a lil here and there.. and you can buy what you need. a smart shopper is a good competitor( well.. can be). Like Alma said, and I always reiterate, there is NO "BEST". we all have our preferences, true. BUT, I personally give much respect to ANYONE who spends time and,as we all know, a TON of time and more so MONEY. Competing can be a very humbling experience. I have seen people who thought they were "unbeatable" cause they stomped the local scene.. but when the "ringers" or "seasoned" veterans showed up.. well.. they didn't fair too well. it is all about having fun, as was said previously. Go have fun, more importantly, MAKE FRIENDS !@!! TRUST ME ON THIS !! You will meet the BEST people at soundoffs. ( and you never know who you are talking to.... the person were just talking with, ragging another competitor.... well that may be ther person you send your proposal to.... And you never know.. if you need something... some people at companies have connections.... so watch what you say, have fun, be friendly, be willing to help others ( never know when you may need it, so do NOT alienate yourself.)
Have fun.. !!
besides.. think anyone like me, and they way I dress at a show.. do you think I am having FUN??..... YOU BETCHA !!!
