I would be interested in some of you sharing your special music that you like to tune with. I will also add a few selections that I have used in the past, once I have some time. Until then......lets spread the word.

My current fav tweak-n-tune disc is the Focal demonstration disc.

Shawn Colvin-Fat City : good female vocals
combination of acoustic and electric instr.

William Topley-Black River : great mid bass attack, strong male vocals

Hey Joe,

Did Drew Williams of PJ's in Erie originally design your system? Or is it the other PJ's.

Just curious.

Yes Drew designed the original layout, where I then redesigned the entire soundstage...I'm happy someone remembers back that far.

The 2 main cds i use to evaluate my systems sound quality capability are sublime "sublime", and vivaldi the four seasons. With sublime, i can hear very low tones, channel seperation, the highs resonate to adjust my soundstage, and very loud guitar sounds that allow me to fine tune my midrange section. With vivaldi, i can pretty much balance my system, and hear the reality of recreation... Jist my selections

I've got that disc. I've got to say, it's a bit too good, quality wise for tuning. I know that sounds horrible, but that disc just sounds very good by itself. Rose in Spanish Harlem is perfect. Dies Irae is a great way to kill your speakers as well.

IME, I've found that well recorded live CD's are very good for tuning. Shakira Unplugged is my current favorite. It has alot of latin flavor to it, and good dynamics. Plus Shakira Mebarik is a cutie.
