What is the x-max and peak to peak of these subwoofers. I saw on the other post that the L7's are .6in. for the 15's. If this is true alma can have fun trying to do 180db+

Chris Nelson listed all the information on the L7s. I HAVE NO INTENTION OF DOING 180db !!! Not that I wouldn t love to though. I am not sure where this started - but lets put a stop to it now. You have to stop and think about the frequencies in place, the testing equipment, and most of all the cars and just what can be accomplished. I think 180 is a possibility - legally - but I doubt if you will see it this year.

Hey, how do you know for sure? We have not even gotten the car put together yet. Lets reserve that opinion until we get the bronco on the road. At least give us a chance to try the products in real competition.

Hey supersub.. these subs are not designed to be ported... in fact one person claimed that with the use of a vented enclosure, the cones actually shred... may be false but i wouldnt be the first to risk it......

I can say for sure that the kove armeggedon will demolish this sub in the SPL category. I have experience with this sub and it is absolutly insane. Even if the claimed .6" measurement is on a linear basis, the armeggedon will win.

Alma im sure youll shock us with a high dB level. You have before so i can invision it happening again. However, what is the sense in competing in the SPL category if your goal isnt the world record?

thats not what she has said...it isn't going to take 180, or even nearly that, to set a world record this year.

My goal is a record - that has always been my goal - trust me, I do not like losing and neither does Kicker or any of my other sponsors. So guess we will just have to wait and see. Hey, bring that Kove stuff on. Its a good product and deserves a chance to win that title, dont you think? I have been told that is what competition is all about. I look forward to meeting you at finals.

I said nothing of hitting 180+ dB

Also i wont be competing this year due to a lack of funds. Im only 16 years old so i cant come up with enough money to develop a winning SPL system. However, my car is currently being modified.

One thing we all need to work on - and that is to be more tolerant of other products. There is no such thing as the best of anything. Thank goodness, we have the right to select products that we want and like - Products are a matter of individual preference and taste. If we all liked the same thing, or if there was only one product to use, our cars would all look and sound alike! That would make one heck of a dull world. There are many very good products on the market today and none of them RULES or SUCKS. Just my opinion. But hey, I am just an old lady and its Mothers Day! LOL

Very true.. and happy belated mothers day *L* but SPL in my mind is not a matter of taste since your not competing for quality. Just my thoughts...

My young friend, I didn't say spl - I said products. big difference. And I do compete in sq - check out our (team gates) ford explorer ISACA and USAC - Expert 601+ - its doing quite nicely. So we are competing for quality - big time.

Alma do you ever run out of tolerance (besides the time you gave the bird to some other team)(oops did I bring that up again ) I think I would have gotten a little annoyed by some of the questions or statements people keep posting. So where do you get it and can I get some? I think we all could use some. And I understand some of them are just learning I was there too one time we all were.

I am going to take the fifth amendment on this one! but yes I do at times. Perhaps age has something to do with it - been there - done that - sort of thing - and knowing there is hope - the older the kid gets - the smarter the mom becomes! lol

And that was an English Bird!!

God I should hope so...you'd need close to six inches for a single winding.

(are you perhaps referring to voice coil diameter?
