I was wondering where I could get the pnematic actuators like you used in the Explorer. What parts would I need to do motorization of this type? Any help would be much appriciated. Thanks

Hello Chad. I just wanted to tell you (like you probably heard a dozen times) That the Explorer looks fantastic. the goddess of audio introduced you as the caretaker of the Explorer, does that mean you are the person who has to clean up behind Erin? I just wanted to welcome you to the post and say "Hi". Good Luck and God Bless.

Hey Chad , Thanks a bunch for being there for me on my long boring nights on AOL, lol. And we'll never forget, I was your first for that whole "internet picture" thing, hehe. So you can't forget us little people.
All joking aside, thanks much for all of the help that you have given me in my quest for finer sounding car audio.

To set up a pneumatic can be difficult depending on the application. We purchase all our materials through a vendor named WisTech, they have locations all over the nation and if they are not near you then someone else will be.
We use Thomas Compressors, Bimba Cylinders, and Norgen Fittings and tubing. The valves and relays we use differ depending on the application. WisTech has a URL : www.wistech.com You can link off this site to any number of manufactures. I'm not sure if you can order over the site or not.
To install a pneumatic system in a car will require a compressor, reservoir, and cylinders. Then you will also need valves, relays, switching, flow control (for certain applications), wiring, gauges, tubing and Fittings.
The cost and time to do only one motorization is not really worth the effort, the benefit comes from the ability for easy expansion and large motorization systems. An actuator is noisy and slow, they can also cause noise in certain situations. Air Systems are fast, versatile, and have no mess. They also offer easy expansion, all you have to do is add another valve and new pipe and your good to go.
If there is anything else I can answer feel free to let me know

This is great! We all are having a conversation with Chad, and the turkey hasn't been able to locate this site yet! LOL - it would probably be better to let this one go away - any questions - pertaining to Team Gates - send to Scott or Pat. I am going to close this post. If Chad shows up - we will start another one. Thanks.
