Alma, just wanted to post a public thank you for coming out to hang out with us at the Sound FX show in Tucson. I know you have a lot of things to keep you busy right now, so to take off and make a fairly long drive is even more appreciated. I'm sure that I speak for everyone that attended as well! Thanks!

It was great to see you again, and I hope to see you again real soon.

Oh, and a VERY sincere thanks for the other thing too, that shall remain secret. (now, knowing these guys, they're gonna get the wrong idea I just know it!). heh

Thank you, Kevin. The show was a hoot! Its always a thrill to introduce a newby to car audio. Watching my friend get involved and asking questions was exciting. I know we satuated him with information about spl.

How bad was your car damaged. That was a real dumbout! You know, if you had 6 inch lifts on that beemer, nothing would have happened! LOL J/K

Yeah, he seemed to really enjoy the whole evening. I have a feeling you've created a monster. We'll see him at more events I'm sure. heh

The exhaust is very bad, it broke the exhaust manifold flange clean off, and after removing and inspecting the manifold, I found that it has cracks in 3 or 4 different places. I found a replacement for $100, so that won't be too bad. The gas tank is still leaking slightly, so I do have to drop it and do a good repair job on it, or replace it. What a pain in the butt this is going to be. Oh well, this stuff happens sometimes.
I guess I'll have to take it in and have it lifted and converted to 4 wheel drive too. hehe
Actually, I think I will lift it back up at least 2" so this sort of thing doesn't happen again, at least not so easily. Oh well, such is life, and it was still a great evening!

I'd also like to say thanks, but for coming down to Miami and talking to me about the Bronco this weekend. I don't compete...yet, the heat was killer, and the car audio portion of the show wasn't the best (my expectations were kinda high when I heard that you would be there), but I'm glad I went out there and had a chance to talk to such a respected person in the industry.
shaun

PS As you can probably see, I read much more than I post.

Some canadians.

Seriously though, I was pulling into the parking lot next to the shop where the last show was taking place, and as I turned to park, I didn't see this big concrete slab buried in the gravel, with bolts sticking up. I was going rather slow, but smacked it hard enough to literally break my exhaust manifold about 2" above the flange where the rest of the exhaust bolts to it, and as it tore the exhaust off, it slid back and to the right puncturing my gas tank. We did a temporary patch, and yanked the exhaust off the car so it wouldn't drag, and drove her through the lanes anyway. I wasn't going to do it, but everyone else (including my fellow competitors in my class) talked me into it. I then proceeded to beat them (they knew that already, but didn't care I guess). :0)

So, anyway, I have to finish dropping the gas tank and patching it, and put the rest of the exhaust back on, and then start rebuilding everything else that I want to fiddle with.

Moral of the story, don't drive through gravel lots with a car that is way too damn LOW. hehe (lifting the car back up about 2" in the rear now because of this).
