I was wondering if you have to seperate the mid and the tweet in kicks. I remember reading how subs can distort the rear speakers fairly easily, and was wondering if a mid could cause a tweet in the same enclosure to be effected.

actually, it is preferable that you mount the two as close as possible to minimize the phasing problem. many pro installer build their own coax's with components because that is the closest they can get, which in turn minimizes phasing problem. i do not believe that the tweeter with be disrupted by the mids.
the only reason i can think that subs would distort the rear speaker is if the rears were free-air in the rear baffle and there was a pair of subs in the back and there was some type of cancelation or something from the rear sound waves of the rear speakers and front sound waves of the subs. anyone who has more experiece with this please feel free to correct me...or back me.
