well if i made a truck box out of it will it hold up? i need space behind my seat and 3/4" MDF compared to 1/4" plexis glass would take to much space up. i dont see why it wouldnt work it i coat the inside with underbody coating and use a lot of L brackets to hold it together...i could also sand the outside down and paint it. fiberglass is a possibility but i have never worked with it before, so im a little timid to try it on my 1st real install.

thanx in advance to all who replys.

i would go with at leats 1/2 inch and prefferably 5/8 or 3/4" plexi. 1/4" wil have way to much flex and sound pretty $hitty if you ask me. sorry but it is the truth.

i think i will go with either 1/2" or 5/8" plex for a few reasons: 1)to be different, 2)easily painted, 3) dont wanna try fiberglass yet and dont wanna mess it up, 4)i think it would look trick'd out as hell with a red neon on top encased in its own box, 5) it should be lighter. is there any specific type of coating i should use for the inside like underbody coating? which is best? and when i paint it im gunna paint it and then add some clear coat to help seal it also. i still would like some more opinions on this...

1/4 inch plexi you must be kidding. You cant even use 1/4 plexi as a window on a box.

you can get it as thick as you want. it is harder to work with than fiberglass imo though. if you want plexi, talk to bobby gately. gatelyaudio.com
