Well to make my story short, i made a snorkle for my jeep cherokee, and i was brainstorming ideas for the mold. i remembered back in an art class i took that we used floral foam (the green blocks of foam that hold flower stems in place) for plaster molds. i used this and it worked awesome, not to mention my mom owns 6 floral shops so the foam was free and plentyfull.
if someone already suggested this dont mind me, but it made my snorkle project 3 times as easy as anything else i could think of.

I used it for my kicks, works wonderful. I tried using expanding foam, but I liked the floral foam much better.
