wow i am starting a project VERY similar to this in my 94 jetta GL. i think i'm going to end up hacking that bottom trim panel (with the woofer mount and side pocket), fiberglassing over it and making an elongated kick panel type thing that will mount to the door... we'll have to see. looks good so far, good luck.

I am starting to think that I should take the entire pocket off the door and build a new bottom to panel... worried about seam between origional and new part.

wow, those pods are looking good man. just a pointer for other people looking at doing something like this, you can use back strapping instead of pieces of mdf to mount your baffles, that way it will be slightly lighter, as well it will let you adjust the angles with the pod in the car before you stretch your grill cloth. that way you dont have to take out and cut, yu can just adjust were the screws go through.
I think you should do that whole bottom section as well. it would look really smooth and look much cleaner.

yeah good point. use backstraping first though then put some legs in. u dont want it to bend when u stretch. and after just tap the legs out.
also another thing i found is. instead of staples on the back holding the stretch its much easier to use hotglue. put a dab of hot glue on the wood and stretch the fabric and let it touch the glue. works awsome!
where would we be without hot glue
