I have 2 orion xtr 12's in a sealed box with no partitions at orions minimum specifications. Can I achieve more spl if I put a partition in the box so each speaker has a seperate inclosure? If I build the box to the maximum enclosure dimensions will that help, or should I stick with the minimum specifications?

if you're running your amp mono, the box will sound the exact same with and without a divider. but you could want to use a divider because it also serves as a brace to strengthen the top, bottom, back and front sides of your box. but if one speaker fails for some reason and it quits working, the working speaker is going to push the non-working speaker allowing out of phase air pressure to come out of the box through the non working speaker, causing the good speaker to sound really bad. if there was a divider, this wouldn't happen, and you would still be able to still have a little bottom end. if you want to look further into this go to http://www.installer.com/tech/box.html
of the better things in life is when the local "thugsta's" pull up next to me in their airbagged nissan pick-up and they have only have 2 10's or something and they think they're rolling the loudest system around and the would never think the 95' olds cutlass supreme sitting next to them is about to roll down the windows and blow the shit out of their windows...hahahaha.....
