DAP weldwood contact adhesive/Landau & Trim adhesive, or other quality glue, sprayed on using a Pneumatic paint sprayer/glue gun, or rolled/brushed on if you're too cheap to buy a dedicated glue gun.

Spray the trunk lid, then spray the back of the material you want to adhere to the trunk lid, let both tack up for a minute or two, then put them together, and press it all in place, stretching around any curves, etc.. You might need an extra hand to assist you in this process. Once that stuff is ON, it ain't coming off very easily.

Good luck.

Specter, you are right, they aren't real cheap, especially if you don't have a compressor. If you have to buy the compressor, and a paint/glue gun, just for one little project, don't bother. If you really NEED a compressor, buy one (they are indispensible tools I tell ya!). As far as the paint gun, you can buy some for relatively low prices. For glue gun uses, and small projects (not painting my car, or something like that), I just hit some of the smaller tool supply places (we have a place called Lee's Tools that is a little place that sells cheap ass taiwanese products mostly) and buy a cheap ($20-30) spray gun. Works great, and last plenty long enough for glue purposes. Some Automotive paint supply shops sell some cheap versions as well, but often not THAT cheap. If you have a Swap Meet/Flea Market around you, go there. They'll often have little tool shacks that sell the cheapy sprayers as well, and they work just fine for this stuff. Just remember that if you need a sprayer for glue, and paint, buy TWO guns, because once you use one for glue, it is permanently for GLUE. hehe

You can get cheap compressors too, don't need anything fancy. A good used compressor can be had for $50-100 and will be completely worth it. I use a compressor DAILY for just about everything, so I consider it one of the most important tools for my shop. We use air nailers/staplers, air sprayers for glue, paint, sandblasting, etc.. We use air tools for disassembly of various things, and for cutting various things as well. Airsaws are very handy when you need to cut a dash opening, and an air nibbler is handy when you need to cut out the back wall of a truck.

Trust me, if you work on a lot of projects, buying these things will save you so much time, and you'll look back one day and laugh at how you used to do everything manually, and how long it used to take.

Hope that helps. heh
