Well Dukk, since you are the master craftsman, i have yet another question. (Damn, so much to learn and so little time!!!!) As you know, i'm building kicks for some new mids and tweets. I have come down to two materials that i should stretch over the existing trim panle to make the kicks: polyester or fleece. My installer buddy says he stands by fleece with no exception, but i believe for a smooth finish the polyester is the way to go. What's your experience on this topic?

The only product I use to stretch is grille cloth. I have used a couple of other materials, some with okay results and others with poor results. I find I always have good results with grille cloth. It is smooth and very stretchy but doesn't hold all that much resin so you have to back it up. I would lean towards fleece over polyester myself.

i would stay with the fleece, i work with fiberglass everyday and there is nothing for the price stronger, use bodyfiller to smooth out any undesirable areas.

Fleece or grill cloth. Be careful with the grill cloth, as it can sometimes flex from the heat of adding more layers.
