Topic: fiberglass door panels
when building door panels would i need to brace to the door frame some how or is fiberglass stiiff enough without it?i wanted to build out the doors of my friend 92 fire bird (no factory door location) and seal the panel on the back.
i am new with fiberglass so let me know if what i am thinking about id even possible.

well...first off, if you have manual windows, It's gonna be tough. I've looked into doing it myself, but you'd really be pushing it with the crank in the position it is....then again, it depends on the driver, I wanted to put 8s in my doors If you're new to fiberglassing, get yourself some practice using it before you start tearin up your door panel. and if you build an enclosure within the door, you really shouldn't have to worry about bracing. Just slap on a layer of dynamat on the inner and outer skins......If you're trying to put a set of components, you're better off goin into the kicks and get yourself a better image in the process....the doors are more of a home for midbass IMO. hope this helps------------------ www.soundquality.net www.sounddomain.com/8341
