Topic: New Build for Saturn VUE *Pics Added 9-21-09*
Been working up some ideas and have decided to persue the latest idea. Attempting to be LOUD and PIMP looking but is quite the challenge to both. This one is more focused towards looking nice but should through up some descent numbers too. It isn't an SPL focused setup but surely at some point in time this year I will have something more towards SPL... just depends on how this one sounds. I am anxious to build something so here it begins. Here is my dirty VUE Cargo Area The Amps! Slot cutting with guide board held down by Josh... so much faster than clamping/moving lol. Thanks Josh! Testing flexibility More flexibility testing Gravity at work Closer look [ 09-24-2009, 10:51 PM: Message edited by: BASSBOXMAN ]

Inside Angle view Stage III Made the sides and put them on so you can *kinda* see what's coming. Another angle weee! Well below the window line although it is going to get a little higher but will still clear by plenty. And another angle Corner Shot... I like this view! Managed to get a little more done. More resin to sand down yay! weee Will have more later this week

3/24/2009 Little more... still undecided on part of it but progressing. Another view Doesn't fit like you want it and spending more time trying to get it to work right.... have to karate chop it to move on lol Cut some flush mount rings for test fit It's gonna fit nicely! Mounting rings attached to the flush rings and set in the enclosure. [ 03-29-2009, 12:26 PM: Message edited by: BASSBOXMAN ]

Fits like a glove... a tight glove. Angle shot Plopped Al's Powerbass 15's in it to see how it looks with the subs. Haven't decided what subs I am going to use yet. Top view 3/31/2009 This next part is where I fill the gaps between the subwoofer rings and the front radius (done just a few hours ago) Made this from a ½" thick hard cardboard ring. Here they are setting in place. another view again.... [ 04-01-2009, 12:05 AM: Message edited by: BASSBOXMAN ]

Now I have attached them to the subwoofer rings another shot And now some resin so they can harden in this position Another shot again and the last one for the night! Managed to get some filler added... lots of sanding/filling left to do. [ 04-05-2009, 08:10 PM: Message edited by: BASSBOXMAN ]

it does look like it's below the rear window line, but is it below the front window line?

Thanks everyone! Front window line? Good question, never checked that but I will. I am pretty sure all the windows share the same line but not positive. Is that a dbDrag rule or something? Not familiar with all the formats out there.

in dbdrag, it's based off the lowest windowline, not just that of the cargo area. for any of the street and SSnowall

Thanks! It is ported though, just hard to tell exactly how/where atm. It isn't focused around SPL but should still throw up some nice numbers.

Your roll off should be great with that design. -------------------- The debate between Christians and athiest's has never been an intelectual one, but a moral one. When presented with evidence that they have no answer for they just sling mud and call us stupid!

Thank you, The port will run underneath the front radius area and will flare out a bit. I plan to fab some side pieces to fill the void on the left and right of the enclosure as well as build an amp rack directly behind the back seats and up against the enclosure... hoping to hear it soon but it will probably be a couple weeks.
