ok i'm thinkin of trying dsomething out in a vertical clam shell design but i was wondering if i ported to the middle would it play like a 6th order or like a regular ported box?

depends on how close the baffles are to each other and how deep in the enclosure the port is

so the further the baffles the better?for me it'll be close cuz i'm thinkin of doin it in a trunk

I did a ported diamond with 8 15s....and the baffles DID act like port depth.

It was tuned WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too low

Would do like a 52 at 18 hz though lol

is there anyway i can figure out roughly what it would tune the front section to or is it just trial and error?

just figure out your opening of the diamond as port area and then the depth... and taht should get you close
