has anyone modded the dash of a 97-03 f-150 dash to accept a double din screen. if so how difficult was it and pics would be great. thanx

I've done it. It isn't that bad.

There is a piece of black plastic that runs behind the headunit. It slope down towards the back of the cavity. You have to cut all of that out. Then you will do some minor trimming on the opening to get the cage to fit. Once the cage is in, I took the trim ring from the radio, cut the dash trim piece to fit the trim ring in--CA glued it in place, then used some liquid plastic to smooth it all out.

It took me about 3-4 hours, but I'm a DIY'er--so most good installers could probably do the entire thing in an hour or so.

That was obviously at the end. I didn't take a lot of pictures because I was so focused on getting it done without destroying my dash.

What year is your truck. is that a f-150 or an expedition?
