I recently tore apart a Brutus amplifier to get the lighted hifonics logo out of it. I want to transer this logo to the rear filler panel of my car (Chevy Beretta). The car has plastic filler panels.
I want the hifonics lettering to stick through the filler panel so I can light it up.

How would I go about doing something like this? I tried using the top of the amplifer itself as a guide to transer the letters to a piece of MDF, but it didn't turn out too good.

I want it to look like the top of the amplifier when turned on. If that makes any sense.

Any ideas?

I did a quick photoshop of what I'm trying to do. Hopefully this will explain what I want a little better.

Trying to make the hifonics lettering stick out the rear filler panel of the car so I can light it up. Basically making the filler panel look like the top of an amplifier

You might want to check with the local police about how they feel about a blue light on your vehicle. My gut tells me they won't like that.

Yea, it'll only be lit up at shows, in the yard, and showing off while not driving. I already have blue lights at the top of the windshield, blue interior cathodes that beat to the bass, and strobe lights. Plus the Beretta word lights up when I turn on the parking lights.

I just wanted to do something differant. I have a 7 color LED bar that I thought about putting behind it so I could have more colors than blue.

hehehe, Hifonics Beretta. gotta have the power from the gods to get good SPL (and move the darn thing).

Going to go get another filler panel this weekend hopefully. I think I've kinda got it figured out and will try it when I get the panel. Don't want to ruin the one I have now since I've already shaved the key lock.

Thanks.

take the amp itself and a router bit with a top mounted bearing. tape a scrap piece on the bottom and buzzzz away. now you have a template that you can mount to anything and better yet.... re-use!.

get a good file for the corners for the sharp inside edges.

Well. Thanks for the info everybody, but... The idea has been scraped. Possibly getting rid of the Beretta since I got an Astro.
