ya the motor says d16y8 on the side.
i have no clue what kinda difference the vtec is.
i have no clue what kinda power this thing has. but its enough for now....

but im kinda SH**** that i got a few bubbles in my tint. back 3 windows have some bubbles which i just noticed the other day... then he says it would take ruffly 4 hours to redu those windows and this time take out the back deck.... thats where the bubbles are around the 3rd brake light. and alittle glue and a small bubble on passenger rear side, and a few small bubbles on the drivers rear side. BUT already went to the tint shop and talked to him and he said he would redue the tint free for me. [Wink] and this time i removed the rear deck to speed him along....... he said it would only take 1.5hours to redue if i removed the rear deck. thats retarded. why it would take him 2.5hours more to remove 6clips.LOL

tho i did get my new battery posts. some voodoo ones, with positive with a blue led readout. tho i do wish the negative matched the solid top style positive. [Frown]

vtec kicks in around 5200 rpms. when you hit 5200rpm, a oil jet in the block opens up and does something that lets an extra cam hold open the valves longer letting more air to combine with the fuel to give yo ua higher hp gain.

I believe your car is 124 stock.. but dont' quote me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VTEC

I think that's the site.. it explains a bit www.howstuffworks.com gives a good exp about it

did alittle more work today.
replaced rear 6x9s with some I HOPE DECENT pioneers.
TS-A6991R i probably paid to much but it was from my favorite local flea market seller.lol he is always realy cool that if i dont like em i can just exchange em for something else.
tho i will NOT be using the grills since my rear deck just wouldnt look right if i put them ontop! it would have to be molded which i just dont feel like doing! i just hope the rear deck will fit back on with them like that! if not ill have to flip em to under the deck. tho they are off the radio no amp yet, maybe when i upgrade my subs ill need to amp them! tho still not new 6.5speakers yet. i gotta pay insurance for my truck and civic this week.
 -
 -
im fading the speakers back to back you can hear the stock dont sound right! now i just need to swap in some good 6.5 comps. i might match or go with some kicker comps or something i havent decided yet!
 -

also swaped out my battery terminals. BUT im not done!!!!!!
but i forgot to buy wire and terminals so i can upgrade the grounds. CAUSE LETS FACE IT... THAT ONE ISNT ENOUGH!
and even tho i cleaned my cables last week this one wire KEEPS coroding REALY BAD! but now it should since i got my new terminals. tho i wish the ground one matched! think ill have to buy another brand to match the style at least.

the voltage display turns off after about 2min of no power draw.
checked it afew times just to be sure!
 -

thats with preaty much everything ON i could turn on. tho i know if i replace/upgrade the grounds it shouldnt have no change at all at fulltilt!

well spent last 2 nights builden a new box for my 2 RE10s, nothing special BUT it fits alot beter and allows me to be able to move the box around in the trunk.
3/4mdf 4inch aero port tuned at 34hz, carpeted black.
tho this is just a start and definatly isnt my only box im gonna build!
what i realy wanna do is build a wall around the trunk and a false floor hinged so i can access the spare tire and hide misc tools....

and carpeting the whole trunk in the same black carpet. just looks beter on a black car if i might say so. [Wink]

well enough chat. heres the pics.

alittle video nothing impressive tho.

i have yet to try and fire the subs and port in different directions yet. also the staples wont be staying.LMMFAO i wanted to allow the glue to dry realy hard before i try and pull the staples, just being sure the carpet sticks down flat!
work in progress at least....

i also got the amp just stuck under next to the spare tire.... doesnt seem to be heating up to bad so far.

still trying to decide if i should ditch the trucks fiberglass box and just put the RE SX sub in this car and get a orion D2400. at least i think thats the model, just 1200watts tho.
i gotta sell some stuff first!

ok MEADE you gotta tell me how your car stays in one piece with your old huge system!!!!

this freaken video i just shot of these 2 little 10s with only 300watts total pushen em.
i dont think this car will hold my RE SX12 with 1200watts when ever i get my orion amp for it!

 -
ITS FREAKEN NUTS! even with photobuckets crapy video quality! video looks alot beter!
if anyone knows of a good site to upload a larger size video with alot beter quality PLEASE let me know! photobucket downgrades the quality to much.

needless to say I WONDER HOW LONG MY SUNROOF WILL WORK WITH THAT MUCH VIBRATION! [Frown]

ya its more like... LOOK MAAAA NO HANDS.... WTF thats only 2 10s and 300watts! the aero port doesnt even seem to move much air! but my old slot port moved ALOT OF AIR!

and for some reason the camera picked up alot of rattling from the trunk but to my ear its hardly any!

but either way i know when i get my amp and my RE SX 12 in thier it should definatly need deadening.LMFAO

havent done much lately tho just maintance work, spark plugs, fuel filter, rear brake pads, had the tint on every window but drivers/passenger due to crapy bubbles....
compresion reads good, 205 highest 195lowest so at least the motor should have lots of life left!
also just got back from geting plates for it and a few more ring terminals and 4gauge wire to replace some crappy ugly torn jacket grounds!
next week i should have enough cash up definatly for a ORION D2400 amp, so ill be slowly starting to build/plan a box for the RE SX 12.

BUT finaly i get to use my dynomat kits i won along time ago with my truck [Wink]
first my liscence plate kit and second after i get some comps the door speaker kits [Wink]

am also gonna be slowly puting my truck back stock to sell it since ill no longer use it daily!
just ordered a new trim ring for my clarion so ill be ripen out the crapy sony cd player as soon as i get the trim ring! also considering just buying some cheap 6.5s and swaping my RE 6.5comps from the truck into the civic. or some alpine comps.just have to search and try to find my old tweeter trim pieces, not sure if they will just fit into the stock EX tweeter location or not... unfortunatly i they might be lost forever since i dont have any clue!

i do. ; ) im on vacation! took me almost 2weeks off.
right now im leting the glue dry for a AMERICAN rear view mirror! sorry but honda mirrors mounted to the roof just SUCK FOR BASS!
only downfall is ill have that crapy tab visable from the front since i had to cut away abit of my tint : ( i might try touching that area up with just black paint from outside the car... either way if it looks like crap ill just razor blade it off.

also earlier today i put some peel and seal all over the rear liscence plate cover, i didnt know the stock liscence plate cover thing was seperate. so took it off and put the peel and seal between the 2 and then my dynomat extreme liscence plate kit on it, instead of puting it on the plate i put it on the car (i may get a vanity plate eventualy)
also painted the silver lock black, next project will be removing all emblems and painting them black,
ALSO since i already had the black motor paint i decided to spray the muffler and pipes just to hide them alittle......
its the little things lately that ive been worken on!

also POOR MANS smoked liscence plate [Wink] 35%tint wraped around it.hahahaha it works for now. tho that plastic carbon fiber/look alittle cover doesnt have any way to attach the botom part so it rattles now, eventualy ill work on it.... and considering just painting it black... doesnt look as good as i thought it would. i just didnt want to use the dynomat frame! that screams steal me!

larger picture that you can actualy see the painted muffler, but from a distance you cannt see it!

 -
and spare rear view mirror from my old s10 jimmy when i replaced the windshield. junk yard replacement already had one attached so FREEBIE! LOL im just waiting over night before i try attaching! hopefully it holds tight and doesnt shake the like crapy honda one!
 -
also 2 small mods i did. green liscence plate leds and interior white leds, dont trip it was all scraps.
green leds left over from my truck when i bought to many, white led dome light was mistake from friends blue led order and i got to keep the mistaken white dome light [Wink]

if you want to decrease rattles, loosen up the lower latch (on the bottom of your trunk) with a 10mm wrench, slide it down as far as it'll go, then tighten it back up. you'll kind of have to put a little force on your trunk when you go to close it, but it'll cut down on rattles ALOT.

I was going to do that with my licence plate (but blue) but PA laws says that it's illegal.. well.. not really.. but the cops here make us pay 92.50 for stuff like that

ya im not realy worried about cops saying its illegal cause if they say so ill just bust out my razor blade and cut it off..... LOL

i only used scrap tint to do it.LMFAO

ill try that latch trick and HOPEFULLY that will work, but i wont try it till i get the 12inch sub in thier! not much need for it with the 2 10s right now.
only thing i gotta do now is take off the liscence plate cover and maybe plate and put foam strips between them. that should stop most the rattling for now.
thanks for the idea tho!
