I just started my first fiberglass box, and seem to have made my first rookie mistake. After much reading and research I covered the back wall of my pickup with masking tape and put down a layer of fiberglass. When dry, the new fiberglass panel poped out quite nicely, but along with all the masking tape.. and the tape doesn't want to come off. I guess next time I should use some sort of releasing agent.

Anybody have any tips on how to salvage my panel?.. could i maybe just continue building up layers of fiberglass on the non taped side, then sand off the tape from the back? Do i have to start again.. this is fun!!

naa just sand off the tape or just leave it unless it messes with the rest of your build.

peel the tape off when the glass is fully dry.

use some acetone

or sand the tape off

(do not add any glass to the bottom of the panel now that you have your shape)
