ive done a few, i found that i like to make a mdf frame for the pass thru and coat it with fiberglass resin to make it waterproof.. it works good.

as long AS you build it right .....think picture frame on the front and back with a thru box in the middle . measure build and test fit. after you get everything fitting right, lather it with a couple coats of resin. you can cover it or i like to cover the whole back of the cab so it looks factory.and if anthing thing it will strenthen your truck.
