Whats up, Im designing a system for my 95 mustang gt and I'm trying to figure out which design will the subs bass harder and cleaner. The first is to build a fiberglass enclosure where my back seat used to be, I was goin to make a fiberglass mold of the interior sides that are in black in the pic and build the subs into them using mdf where possible and build the rest of the system around that using the whole rear of the car and porting the subs if I can figure out how to port fiberglass

OR

for more security(so people walking by dont see what I have) Is to build the subs into my trunk, sealed like this guy has in his car and build the system around that. If I do it this way would it make sense to seal off my trunk from the passenger compartment and put ports through my rear deck or backrest or leave the backrest area open?

Iv built a lot of systems so Im not woried about complexity but never with so much fiberglass.

Also the system for now is goin to be 2 Xtant X1244's and an Xtant 10001dx amp

The first option I think would give it a better look. It is all up to you though. If done right, both will sound good. The first option though, I would not recomend if you are not used to working with fiberglass.

Im not worried about the fiberglass, I know its time consuming but if Im gunna do this Im doing it right the first time. Also its going to be my advertisment to show others what Im capable of doing so I can get more work doing custom systems.

Get ready for some time-consuming work. Good idea though. Check my progress.

after doing quite a few of these, trunk systems, walls and side panel subs, i'd recommend what we did with our own 01 cobra. pair of 12's that face forward right where the rear seatback was with vent firing forward in the center of the two. had a 1000d on each sub, so naturally it got loud, but the system was braced and sealed off with religion if you know what i mean. amp rack was in the rear seat position, everything was glassed Birch. bracing is the key to pulling it off with no chance of it coming loose with less than a train T-boning you. doing this still leaves trunk room, somewhat...as it never had much useful trunkspace to begin with and no worries of trunk muffling or cancellation problems from back there, as well as elimination of audible trunk rattle. seal it, brace it and it SHALL BE RETARDED!

Are you working with an Escort also or something else?? I had a pair of Memphis SHP15's in a sleeve I made under the rear deck that took the whole area and it worked ok, not super loud but it sounded pretty good and looked cool too!!! I wish I had some pics of it...
