After years and years of glassing with gloves on, I made a mistake and didn't wear one today. What's the easiest way to remove this mess? Methyl Ethyl Ketone? Acetone? I tried paint thinner and it didn't work.. LOL
thanks

if your going to work without gloves then wipe hands with some car wax before resin if any resin gets on you it will peel right off.

Seriously.
This seems to be a great alternative to using acetone or any other chemical on your skin. After years of using glues, solvents, and other chemicals in the roofing business my hands are sensitive to that stuff these days. Get the skin on your hands nice and "wrinkly" by sweating them up in a rubber glove (works better on a hot day of course) seems like it would release the sticky stuff nicely. Your taking the glue off from the backside rather than trying to scrub it off the front (lack of better way to put it)
Im gonna try that Cinco!

I also use sawdust when laying down matt or cloth. If I get resin on my GLOVES the matt/cloth fibers tend to stick to them pulling strands loose, pulling layers up and making a mess. I stop for a few seconds, grab a handfull of sawdust I keep in a box and rub my hands as if washing with water. Bamm. Clean gloves....back to work.
HTH.

might sound stupid, but how do you get your hands to sweat ? i presume you have to get rid of the powder in the gloves (latex gloves) !

I want to clarify something, I always use gloves. However, I sometimes (read that most of the time) manage to get resin on my arms, legs, or when removing the gloves get some on my fingers---that is when I use saw dust.
I would NEVER fiberglass anything without gloves on.
As to sweating---you put on rubber gloves in the summer--your hands will most likely sweat (at least in Alabama they will).

Acetone will do it, but I recommend the MDF dust over it for sure! The nail polish remover with Acetone isn't so bad but pure acetone on your skin isn't a very good idea.

I Agree with Cinco, sweating it off is the best and most natural way. Acetone and other chemicals WILL get into your blood stream and damage your internal organs, as well as thin your blood.
