I filled my screw holes with filler than sanded flush. I to used house hold vinyl that was avail. and cheap to do my box! The trick was Heat Gun. Worked like a charm. This was the first box that Vinyled, and it came out great! If you use a good strong high temp adhesive you can heat the vinyl and stretch it into the port opening. Cut it flush with the top layer of MDF, and all will be happy! I found some heat activated 3M adhesive at a local surplus store that worked great and held tight for the last 2 years on another project I did. -------------------- Need Decals, or Lettering?? Let me know! Vinyl is my Business! Future Project-Mazda MX-3 Lanzar 4000D, 2 Opti 15's, 5.25 Opti Comp's, Opti D100 line driver Lanzar SV7TV In-dash 7in Screen, SVDVD5 Dvd Player!!!

no, I used the ones where you insert the screw and then snap the top on when it is tight. -------------------- atomic apoc 15 with spl mod and a atomic 1500.1 at .5 ohm 147.4 dbs import wars loudest of the day apx quad 1ohm 2 dd m1's datasafe hx400 wait no powercell pc4000 145.8 dbs

kindof, but not really, however they don't need to be countersunk with those kinds of covers. -------------------- atomic apoc 15 with spl mod and a atomic 1500.1 at .5 ohm 147.4 dbs import wars loudest of the day apx quad 1ohm 2 dd m1's datasafe hx400 wait no powercell pc4000 145.8 dbs

One trick I've learned is to carpet the enclosure first (or stuff it with thin polyfill) then wrap it in vinyl. That way the imperfections are hidden and the surface will be even. As far as hiding the screws, the trick is to avoid putting screws in sight to begin with. Now if you have no choice but to conceal the screws, you can fabricate a panel and wrap it in vinyl. Use heat gun and stretch it well. Use low profile staples and staple the back of the panel.. THEN you can either use contact cement OR those panel holders suggested above to stick it in place. have fun --------------------Alpine • XTANT • Focal • Image Dynamics • AudioControl

I have less than 8 hours to build that box and I was on a tight budget the person did not care about how it looked as long as it was decent. I redid my box. but because I will be modding it all year the screws that need to be pulled have capps over them. I will put picks up later, -------------------- atomic apoc 15 with spl mod and a atomic 1500.1 at .5 ohm 147.4 dbs import wars loudest of the day apx quad 1ohm 2 dd m1's datasafe hx400 wait no powercell pc4000 145.8 dbs

ok kids no point in fighting =) just for the record....i had 1 10 and a 2000d doing a 147.9 on the termlab that vinyl looks like poop, period those are my vehicles...notice the sexy vinyl....ALSO to hide screws in vinyl, you cut a very small slit in the vinyl if you use good glue...run the screw in and then push the vinyl back together...makes a perfect seam you can't see =) --------------------

wow this has been a funny post to read, dude cant even type sentences that make sense! and last time i checked at walmart or joann fabrics for vinyl, i must have missed the "automotive" vinyl section and the "household" vinyl section its vinyl, period. it stretches. some more than others. use good glue that is strong and it wont matter tremendously if it doesnt stretch alot [/end retort] im going to have to try the "cutting a small slit in the vinyl" idea soon. i have a panel i made out of mdf i need to cover. will you be able to get to the screw and not junk it all up if u needed to take it out? i have to put a few screws through the wood to secure the panel in, and the panel needs to be able to be removed by those same screws. here's the panel as of right now for reference, the screws are gonna go along the edges every few inches, just enough to hold it on goodhttp://thebitch.ath.cx/~clitty/1/5.jpg peace- -------------------- .................................................................. 2005 Bass Race 139.9 World Finals Champion 2006 Bass Race 149.9 World Finals Champion 2007 Bass Race 149.9 2nd Place Regionals + Nationals 3rd Place Worlds A Baldman Creation

if you know for sure where the screws are it won't be a problem to remove, but if your going to be removing it quite a few times then you might need to use poppers or something else so the vinyl doesn't start to wear --------------------
