Topic: how to hide screws in vinyl
that amp is going to cook. as for the screws, you can get cover/plug kinda things... thats the best way I can describe them. hey are often used on computer desks and whatever, thats the only thing I can think of that you could do. edit: what exactly is that panel?

ive used cheap trim panel plastic clips before. just drill into the cover piece and then insert one of the clips thru it,,, grind the wood down enough so it will sit inset and you can use some wood filler over the top and sand it down smooth so it looks like nothings thier from the outside.... then ya just drill the right size hole into the wood and push the thing in the hole then ya got a removable panel with no visable screws and like he said... i hope that amps got some cooling something around it to get cool air! around the port tho.... THATS THE TUFF ONE TO GET LOOKING GOOD! its realy tuff! your best bet is to try and make a trim panel to go around it, then vinyl that cover or paint it and snap it inplace like the other cover.... -------------------- stereo being rebuilt.

2 things: 1. use grill snaps. The grill snaps ( Grill Snaps ) will hold the panel down and you have no screws on the top side. 2. Please tell me you have the location where the battery is in the trunk sealed off and is vented to the outside of the vehicle. If not---you are just waiting on the entire thing to explode. VERY DANGEROUS. -------------------- Team SounddomainThe Autophile GENESIS

you should start again... honestly, as has been said... firstly, no ventilation for the amp, and battery, and secondly, mounting the amp upside down is the worst possible way of mounting it...

first the amp has never heated up even on at half ohm in spl comp. Second this is my spl box dressed up I have hit a 144.8 dbs on a sensor with it. And I am still climding third I have had a battery in my trunk like that since 2001 never had a problem my dad carries a battery like that at all times. fourth thanks for the grill clamp idea. after I get the box how I want it I will redo it What egdes would you router I have not had a chance to clean up the boxes. It was done right before the show. no alot of my customers are under 1K for install most the the time I paint the box. I might even paint mine but I am working on the vinyl thing what do you do with the grill cloth pull it over the port. If so I thought about it just to hide the port for fun. ALRIGHT, MY TURN! I am the WIFE! As for comments on the vinyl job. go jump off a cliff. I did it in 15 minutes. Cheap vinyl has a lot to do with it. It is NOT stretchy vinyl. IT IS NOT for cars. It is house hold vinyl. It is not designed to be pulled to tightness. ALSO it is MY CAR! I like the way it looks AND nothing is sealed off. Where in the heck to you all get that???? the amp and the battery are only behind an imaginary board so you don't have to stare at them. as for the amp?? are you insane? inverting the amp has no problem. You are crazy if you think that turning the amp upside down will hurt it. why in the heck do you think that they take the time to put plexiglass behind some of them to begin with?? for $h!t$ and giggles?? as for my vinyl work, my box was the second one I have ever done. and my friend's box has a special flap on the side of it like she wanted. My first box was awesome, and since it is just starting out, none of it was automotive vinyl. if you are good at anything you should at least know the darn difference between automotive vinyl and household, let me see what I can call it, ummm common sense??! -------------------- atomic apoc 15 with spl mod and a atomic 1500.1 at .5 ohm 147.4 dbs import wars loudest of the day apx quad 1ohm 2 dd m1's datasafe hx400 wait no powercell pc4000 145.8 dbs

here... I'll say it again... amplifiers are not designed to be mounted upside down, it is the least efficient way you can mount a heatsink, and will very likely result in it overheating...

im not known to agree with DBB but im with him on this one....that vinyl job on that box had nothing to do with how cheap the material is. It really looks like you dont know what your doing but hey no ones perfect. If DBB did the work in those pics then i got props for that, looks super clean. On mounting amps upside down he is 100% right on that too. If your gonna burp or take it real easy on your amps i suppose its not the end of the world but for every day usage thats not cool, (pun intended). Heat rises, and heatsyncs are made to disipate heat. It wont do that upside down. All the heat, if any, is rising thru the board and not thru the syncs so that can be an issue. The 'Fets are plastered to the chassis below the heatsyncs for a reason. Its not made to be mounted like that but if your doing ok with heat issues then its probably ok. Not ideal, but ok i guess. -------------------- Rockford Fosgate FiCarAudio Team PowerMaster www.stevemeadedesigns.com My Myspace page, add me!
