OK...I was told to use a "common enclosure" for ( 4 ) Earthquake BALLS 15's @ 5cubes per sub with ( 4 ) 4" x 8" round ports per sub. My question is; is this kind of box commonly used for SPL? I have a wall already, my 12's are coming out and the 15's will be there replacements. I also wanted to use a vent instead of ports. Does anyone know about how big the vent(s) should be? L x W x H??? The vent question is the one I'd really like to have answered. Oh yeah, my resonant frequency is 53Hz. PLEASE help me. Thanks in advance!!!! =)

if your running MEGA WATTAGE to these subs, i'd suggest individual chambers for each of your BALLS! just incase you blow one of your BALLS. this way, none of your other BALLS get hurt by the bad one.

if your running a moderately powered system (under 1.5 KW between the 4 subs), then it would be safer to use a common chamber enclosure.

as for turning your round ports into rectangle "vents", each vent would need to be (WxHxD) 3" x 4" x 8".

also, if you play a test tone of about 60Hz is where your loudest frequency will probably be.

sounds like a winner to me! good luck

Fianally!!! =) Thank you!!!! Yes, they will be getting "MEGA WATTAGE!" At least 1 D2 to each sub. =) I guess I'll have to build seperate enclosures. Do you know if 5cubes per sub will be big enough for SPL? The dimensions of the box(s) (inside of course) are; W-22"xH-16"xD-25". This gives me 5cubes. just wondering. Will that vent size still work? Thanks again for helping me out!!!!! I REALLY appreciate it. =) Oh yeah...is that also 1 vent per sub?

Actually if this going to be a all out spl machine ..like a SS 3/4 car then i would suggest building the largest box possible then running about 100-150% port area..so i would suggest a port ALeast 450" if not more...the vent legnth will decide on over all box volume after woofer and port displacment.

If you can build a box thats about 30-35 feet this will work best because after woofer, braces, port displacment you should end up with about 25-28 cubft of actually box which /4 should give you wahat about 6-7ft a woofer...this will actully work alot better than idividual enclosures..d say youd roble notice a 1-2 db gain from coupleing over the individual enclosures
